I don't want my position here to get twisted by an internet tennis match - I would applaud him for not accepting this offer.

I think the Saudi regime are human rights abusers and we should drive them out of the sport, cut off diplomatic ties with their murderous government, and stop purchasing the oil that is the source of their wealth and influence.

I also definitely do not see money is the be all and end all. Personally, I would greatly wrestle with the idea of accepting a windfall of Saudi origin.

But, its also naive to think the base human instinct of self preservation and resource hoarding - something that almost all of history teaches us is the primary human drive - is so easily defeated. That's why I said it would take the morality of a Saint.

Personally, at the end of the day I'd probably justify that it'd be foolish to snub €22M, when I could use that money to do a lot of good in the world. I could sit here on my high horse and not take it, and also not be in a position to feed the hungry or house the homeless. Or I could just take the money and use it to make other people's lives better.

Not that that is what Inzaghi will do. He'll probably just buy an extra house and a big boat. But you'll never go broke betting on people's nature to take care of themselves.
Yeah wasn't having a pop at you.

I was just saying that there are some people out there who would turn it down.

Tbf people deciding between €15m or €22m a year will probably find it easier to choose morality and sainthood.

Whilst I agree with your overall take on the subject; ironically not........... Most ultra-rich people just can't help keep chasing more.

I can honestly say I wouldn't go.

The better half is a teacher and she was looking at going out there for a while so we could build up some cash.

The more we looked into it, the more I dreaded that she wanted to do it.

Thankfully, she ended up deciding not going herself and I have never been so relieved.
I have turned down work in Qatar. My partner has refused to work on several films that were shot in three or four locations she does not agree with the governance of. No we are not talking the Inzaghi sums, but six figures in one case. Some things mean more to some people. We're never going to be short of money, how we feel about ourselves means way more. I'm not a saint I'm just not mega motivated by money. I genuinely fascinated by people who want more and more.

I'm the same. Only ever wanted to reach a stage where I don't have to worry about money from month to month.

Biggest thing for me has always been as little stress as possible and being a Spurs fan is more than enough stress for me.

Exactly. I don't know what the hell motivates Musk, Bezos....well other than Ketamin but I would not want their wealth no way. I find it a bit ...icky
