Player Mathys Tel

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

There is no point being negative about him if he's going to be our player. We need to get behind him and do everything we can to make sure he becomes the best player he can be for us. It's encouraging that he wanted to stay with us and there is some potential there.

People wanted Sane and Mbuemo but Tel is what we've got. If Frank is going to be our manager for the new season, he might be able to get more out of him - player development is his strong suit.
its not being negative, its an opinion given about a player on a football forum, i thought that was the whole point of these forums?

its fine saying you think a player looks good and promising, but back it up with something that actually relates to football. it wasnt long ago there were fans thinking winks and skipp were good enough for spurs....when anyone with half a clue could see they looked like boys playing a mens game in midfield.

yea i get the circumstances hes come into (shit manager and shit system) but as i said i havent seen any footballing qualities from him. moore looks much more of a footballer that tel, hes just not physically ready. its irrelevant how young they are, a good footballer you can tell when they are young with how they look on the ball and the decisions they make.

watch tel dribble and compare it to other wingers, they are so much cleaner and elegant looking on the ball, you either have that elegance and that way with a football or you dont, you cant teach it, you can only hone it.

i think at best, tel is a striker for a standard i dont ever wanna see spurs at.
I agree with you on that one, I have been underwhelmed by in the couple of games he had. He did look rusty, but I also dont see him on the wing. I think he can be the back-up striker for Solanke with Richarlison being moved on.

Mbeumo is the one we should be going for of course in comparison. Maybe a miracle does happen and we get him alongside Frank. Just too unrealistic at this point in time.

Maybe there is some bias on my side. With Tel, I remember the deal being controversial back when Bayern splashed 20m on him. He barely played for Stade Rennes before that. And he was successful with Bayern, received an early extension and fell out of favour with Kompany.

Lets wait and see. I would be happy if this works out. To be honest I see him returning to Bayern - he can be the long-term backup to Kane as a number 9.

why are you bias towards tel?

i wish he was good, i want every spurs player to be unreal, but theres no point lying about it if they aint, it just holds the club back.

Bald Cunt and Ange - Brought Tel in for a ridiculous €10M loan fee for half-season - so they’ll be an ego factor for both them.

They won’t want to admit the loan and fee was a mistake so I think we’ll overpay to keep Tel.

Their other wingers bar Olise are expensive and hot garbage.

Tel will come good, either here or at Bayern. I dont see him failing.
Yup alternatives are hot garbage and yet Bayern still willing to lower the price to get rid … What does that tell you but what they think of Tel? So Tel will not come good at Bayern because they don’t want him it seems

I’d take Tel off of Bayern’s hands for €15M or less (which should be the going rate for an unproven potential). Not going to deny that Tel has potential so worth a punt at the RIGHT price. More attacking wing potential to add to our pile with Moore, Odobert, Ajayi …

Based on what? Moore has done zero in all the prem games hes played, looks completely out his depth. Tel, despite everyone insulting him has been the only bright spark in the last few games of the season, whilst playing with a complete second team.

Because he clearly does have talent. I am convinced most people dont actual watch the games. They just form an initial opinion and then stick to it. Hes a 19 year old kid, speaking a 3rd language, playing in the toughest league in the world for a spurs second team that had given up on the league. What was Mbeumo doing at 19.. he was playing in France at Troyes... and then just got his move to a championship side in Brentford.

Yeah I dont get the fuss with Moore. Looks like he was much bigger than every other kid in his age group and likely the one above so was able to dominate. Now that he's playing with players his own size he looks pretty average. Doesn't mean I think Tel is the next Messi just means I'm not sure why Moore has been so hyped.

Lol moore is not bigger than every kid in his age group, he’s not particularly tall , strong or fast. He dominated because he’s way more techincally gifted. He’s currently not ready for the prem because that’s full of players who are just more physically dominant than him.

Tel would be a waste of a signing for me, he looked completely useless up front and only showed promising signs from the left. But Moore v AZ alone was better than any tel performance from the left and would much rather we use tel money to sign a starting LW and have odebert and son cover, give moore a loan with a view of being a squad player for season 26/27.

I'd actually say Odobert is ready to be a starting LW if we upgrade the RW (where we are weaker). Back to Mbeumo !

odobert should defo be starting over tel and son thats for sure. still think for right this minute we need better tho. our forward line is nowhere near top 6 level.

if odobert can improve his physicality he could be a beast in a couple years, but hes very lightweight at the minute.
