Levy has said today that terrible results in the league are not good enough even if you win a cup. Levy has said that the manager is ultimately judged by the league position.
This is exactly the right direction for our club's ambitions to be oriented.
Adding pressure on Levy to make it work after sacking the manager brings him into clear scrutiny for next season, which is what we want. We want him to feel he is set clearly against the "nobody can win under Levy" narrative.
If he's good he'll stay and if he's poor he'll be sacked, and then we'll hire another one. This is the nature of football and it always has been.
