Player Pape Sarr

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Folk often say what's he good at. Well this is the answer: anticipation, athleticism, ball carrying, a willingness to run beyond and provide a forward option, and then when it matters a cross shot or decisive forward ball. The right coach can hurt teams with him. And make him a total pain for his opposite number.

Without him we wouldn't have won this game. Simple as that.
He won us the ball. He helped to retain it. He put in the dangerous cross. And throughout the game he kept pressing their players and winning the ball back.

And just two or three pages ago there were number of posts about how he is not good at anything, pointless player and should get sold in summer. Wonderful.

injured:

The Senegalese Football Federation informs the public that, on medical advice, the player Pape Matar Sarr has been declared out of the friendly matches against Ireland and England on June 6 and 10, 2025.
Clinical and radiological results revealed pain and edema in the left gluteal muscles and a muscle injury in the left fascia lata.
We wish a speedy recovery to Pape Matar Sarr

If it's just swelling hopefully he gets some proper rest and treatment. It's been evident for a while he was playing compromised for much of the season.

Interesting the difference between how fans of other clubs and our own fans see Pape

IMO he’s one that’s about to really push on. I think about the cross for Maddison v Villa the quality of his assist in the EL final, the strike vs City and it’s so clear he has the quality to go with Kante like lungs.

He is insanely good. Just like with Gray and Tel, a proper coach would unlock his potential, which is insane.

It's weird how we're sorted for years to come with Gray - Sarr - Bergvall in our midfield.

Lol he’s very good but he’s absolutely not a deep lying playmaker.

Not sure Sarr has shown anything consiatemtly to suggest he is more than a good midfielder.

He’s still pretty young but very athletic, great stride and engine and not bad technically either, makes decent runs in to the box. Could develop in to a very good box to box type. It’s definitely not all there yet and people tend to go OTT in either direction.

But he doesn’t have either the inclination or the technical profile to be someone who sits and makes play. Would be a total waste of a lot of his best work too.

Nothing to disagree with there.

He is still young enough and coachable, he can be anything he wants. Its funny how quick people are definitive about players. I think he'll become a elite box to box ECL level player with the CORRECT development. It's always about that. I think he stalled out this season through bad coaching terrible physical preparation and basically an incompetent tactical setup.
