How have people immediately taken this Silva story as gospel? The portugese press have been infamous for years for linking portugese players and managers to English clubs spuriously. And The I is hardly anything to put stock in.. Just an hour ago Fabrizio Romano was still pushing that Thomas Frank is the leading candidate, and whatever some may think of him, he is vastly more credible than any source pushing a Silva story.

Since Brentford reached the PL they have been appalling in domestic cups. They are sacrificed for PL. They have been knocked out at the first hurdle of the FA Cup in the last 3 seasons and don't fair much better in the League cup reaching the QF twice. He generally bins off the domestic cups which is odd considering he never has to juggle the midweek European grind. With Champions League football you can pretty much guarantee the Carabao will be binned off - he might go for the FA Cup because by January we will know our fate in the Champions League group. I suggest you recalibrate your expectations of being competitive in all the cups under his watch. It simply isn't going to happen.

His prime job is to keep Brentford in the league. This is a small club we are talking about. He loses players and just adapts. Lost Toney now he has two strikers, 19 and 20 prem lge goals respectively. He will play Gray as an 8 , later moving to 6. That’s what Gray said he told him.
 
I feel like this matters... But that Portugese Record story was published before 8 pm last night. It just seems that the Spurs aggregators only got a hold of it an hour ago.. In the time since then the more creditiable sources have still pushed Frank as the leading candidate without blinking.
