He's never hesitated to pay top money for the managers he wants.

But he walked away from Erik ten Hag over just not feeling like he had the strong personality and command presence to lead the team, not anything about tactics or the quality of his CV.

Sacking a popular manager in the dressing room creates a need for that command presence more than ever, and I just kinda don't see Frank as Levy's kind of guy.

He listened to Paratici on Nuno who wasn't his kind of guy either, but this hire would seem to be Levy's show.

I dunno, we shall see.

IIRC, he's said more than once that once he's done at Brentford, he wants to quit football and travel the world for a few years. So there's that....

That is the thing that concerns me most about this appointment if it happens. Not so much Frank himself, I think he's a good coach.. More so why are we so attracted to a manager who's shown he can squeeze the most out of a squad with the second lowest wage bill in the league.. What does that say about how we're gonna operate going forward?

It also helps (on a purely personal level) that he seems a very likeable bloke.

I've liked almost all our managers as people since Sherwood, the exceptions being Mourinho and Conte to a lesser extent. Before that I was indifferent about Gross and AVB and obviously held Graham's past against him.

Doesn't concern me that much, we know we're going to be limited compared to the goons, chavs, United, dippers etc so I'm happy enough with someone who can make a squad outperform it's value. Poch did the same.

Question remains if he can pull off that trick with a higher value squad.

Exactly. I posted a couple of months ago about a guy on SC who was out Vicario's parents on an away game (he posted pictures) and they said Vicario and the defenders dont like the way they are asked to defend.

The only thing the players will be worried about is being sold or being asked to work harder and being held to task by a new manager because the last one took all the hits for them.

At least referencing SC ITK, it's already caveated as dubious and for entertainment reasons.

Worse when people post twitter/tiktok stuff as if they are quoting elevated and enlightened humans, rather than the opposite of that. People struggle to post simple factual information on there - never mind informed knowledge
