And that’s the problem , we used to be a massive club , the expectation of the fans should be winning trophies and that incudes the PL and CL.

???

Yet we've never won either (nor the league since '61).....

64 years and counting is not down to ENIC.

.........All the while we've never come closer than we did in 2017 & 2019 respectively.

That is the thing that concerns me most about this appointment if it happens. Not so much Frank himself, I think he's a good coach.. More so why are we so attracted to a manager who's shown he can squeeze the most out of a squad with the second lowest wage bill in the league.. What does that say about how we're gonna operate going forward?
I think the even bigger thing is that Levy believes Frank can make a coherent team out of whatever value the recruitment operation can find, he's not wedded to a system where pieces don't fit.

That will prove to be a fantasy, I guarantee it.

Unfortunately after how ever many years of ENIC we have turned from being a football club into a business, and the goal of this business does not include trophies , top 5 on minimum spend is the dream.

Frank has done more than Pochettino did.

We are pathetic fans, and some are really full of so much sh!t.

Arteta, Maresca and Howe had done wat exactly? All part of the top 6.

It's getting fcuking embarrassing, and all because we won on the 21st, and with no vision of the mainstay of being a PL side.

Utterly sickening.

Will immediately become my profile pic and have full support. He’s the man who freed us from Ange, from which I will forever be grateful.

Why is this thread allowed? Can we have one for Xavi and Prime SAF, too? While it's fucking make-believe, can I have Thanos and Sauron in the mix? They're great man-managers and Thanos seems tactically flexible.

I wouldn't agree with that.

It's relatively close, but objectively you'd have to give the edge to what Poch accomplished at Espanyol and Southampton.

The case for Frank is overly dependent on the fact that the Raya's and Toney's and Mbuemo's weren't making any money. So what?

Those are better footballers than Jay Rodriguez and Morgan Schneiderlin and Rickie Lambert. We didn't know it at the time and a number of those Saints guys went for big fees elsewhere, but Poch was making magic happen with bang average players there.

Frank has done slightly less with slightly better material, all things considered.

Post on a Brentford forum

"I’m just hoping that Levy listens to the ignorant majority of Spurs fans who have made it clear that they see Frank as a massive downgrade and not nearly up to the task of managing their massive club."

New one-way rivalry incoming to add to the 'X-club hates Spurs'-list.

Brentford are really a league one club though - might not be all down to Frank but them being a solid PL team is pretty mental

I know it’s dogshit but this is a side who finished 17th last season losing 22 games, owners who haven’t shown an ounce of ambition regardless of circumstances (world class squad in a title race, champions league finalists etc). I think it would be unfair to blame the coach if he manages to drag us to 8th place given the state of the team and club. What makes you think we should expect more given the state of our current squad and owners?
It's worse than dogshit. Under any manager Ange included we will not lose 22 games next season and finish 17th. Third biggest spenders over last three seasons... once Villa cut their cloth we will have 6th highest wage bill next season so minimum is 6th.

All 3 of them have won more than Frank.

It's a very impressive story, and Frank plays his part going way back (before becoming manager he was hired as essentially the glue between the first team and their unique Brentford B setup), but with the players they've had they've never been relegation favorites in actuality.

9th was a brilliant result for them, but 16th the next season was an underperformance really.

I've been banging this drum for years.
Football fans, media, pundits etc have a very, very high rate of morons in them.
Just sit at a match and listen to them slur their way through their absolute drivel every week.
