Well 2010 Van der Vaart was the most recent in their prime quality attacking player we signed, most of the really good attacking players we've had this century have been young with potential, Son being the only one to remain.

Might not be as much of a shock as some expect
PSG are in the club World Cup so might be forced by the rules to give their entire squad 2 weeks off just before the game.

that's only because silverware here is so infrequent as to be unable to mark a statistical pattern...
I genuinely think we can win the EFL or FA cup by prioritizing it (play 1st team) and a bit of luck, but I don't know that it will happen this next season. It also depends on the coach, and how strong the squad is relative to the rest of the league.
I'd say our next best chance of silverware is in the EL or conference league, two seasons from now, should we miss out on CL qualification this next season (very possible- probably likely).

Between 1961 & 1991 a total of 31 years we won, 1 league championship, 3 European titles, 6 FACups & 2League cups. Whilst not spread evenly 1 trophy every 3 years. Since, 1992-2025, 34 years we have won 1European title & 2League cups about one every 11 years. Now we may not get back to our glory years but as a top 6 club by size we should expect much better than our recent record.
