Management Thomas Frank

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Thomas Frank has won more Premier League away games against Chelsea (4 games, 3 wins) than every manager in charge of Tottenham combined (33 games, 1 win)

Expect THAT stat to change them!
Tragic. I fucking hate them.
Proof positive that they always try harder against US than the other 18 clubs!

It's an astonishing record.
At one point we had a similarly poor record against United dating back to the late 80's, but we turned that tide around the Redknapp era and have beaten them 5 times at OT since 2012. Still not a brilliant away record, but not a horror show either.
Think it was 11 years home or away in all comps before that 2012 win.
Arse & Liverpool away were/are even worse....

Ah, maybe it IS our fault after all!!

I'm very 'meh' about this appointment but that doesn't mean it might not turn out to be a good one.

We'll be more solid for sure, which may be enough short-term but I highly doubt he'd be hired by rival clubs and can't help but think this is a sign of the club's lack of ambition.
If Levy could make a manager in a lab, it would probably be Thomas Frank.

- has never managed at a club even near the level of Spurs so will jump at the chance to join us.
- will not rock the boat or complain about lack of spending.
- he’s used to working on a shoestring budget and getting a tune out of mediocre players.
- is tactically flexible so it won’t require Levy to need to try (and likely fail) to purchase players tailor made for his system as was the case with the likes of Conte and Ange.
- he’s coming in when we’ve just finished 17th so even if he just gets us back into the top 10 it will be seen as a success.

I’m sure he’s a decent coach and will undoubtedly steady the ship to a certain degree, but these Spurs fans coming out proclaiming he’s some kind of messiah/tactical genius and that we “finally have a actual coach” etc are going to be bitterly disappointed I feel.

Let us not forget that he got done twice by Ange last season, including a 0-2 defeat at home when our form was absolutely wretched, they had their full strength side and we had Davies and Gray at centre back…

Joking aside, his liverpools stats are worse than ours. zero goals scored at anfield, ever.

I bet he has built an underground lab where he's tried!!!

You must be in the minority , not meaning that as offensive at all, but you only had to see the fans at the trophy parade to see what this meant to people, for me it wasn't even about qualifying for the Champions league, it was finally seeing our club captain lift a European Trophy, this was for all the times we have come close but couldn't get over the line, I think as well being as the season was so shit this was literally for the club a lifeline, a chance to save the season, I also don't get all the "Trophy Snobbiness" so to speak, you can only win what competitions you are in and you can only beat the teams you play, Granted its not the Champions league but its still a prestigious cup.

This is what football is all about, I have done a lot of drugs in my life , but when the final whistle went against united that feeling was better then any of them, its sad that other fans didn't experience such Joy as moments like this in football are few and far between for Spurs,

It meant that I could call into the local pub, head held high, scarf on and have a few beers, while sticking it up the Gooner barman and his mates. For that I truly thank all those who made it possible, including ANGE!!
P.S. Nothing is certain in life and this was a great win for all those who sincerely acknowledged and celebrated it without calling the manager a fat cunt!!

Not implying you're an Ange-bois, but do you think Ange would be hired by rival clubs? The notion is pretty LOL tbh. I don't think Ange will be hired by another PL club, never mind a top 6 PL club. Frank would absolutely be in the mix for Top 6 jobs.

I can’t see him staying in this country tbh

Maybe Greece or the Cook Islands?

He's looking a bit old here. Might never see a return for him. If we get Frank he'll be here for min 18 months barring a catastrophic run of form. Poch will leave USANT in that time and get a new job, probably Man United in 26/27. He'll be 55 when 27/28 season kicks off.
Is he gonna be a coach who wants to go into his 60's? I'm not sure.
Yeah,I doubt he’ll ever be back here.

I think I gave up on it fully two years ago.. He was free. We had a vacancy. In every interview with the English press, he'd mention that he loved the club and fans, and wanted to come back one day.. And we didn't do it then, when it felt like the obvious time.. Maybe for the best. Looking at him since, I think we got his peak years, I'm sad to say.

I was pretty underwhelmed by Ange's appointment as well so definitely not an Ange-bois as you call it.

Really? Woolwich? Chavs? Citeh lol? I believe none of those clubs would go for Frank.

Levy sitting there tapping his watch, waiting for United to seal the Mbeumo deal. It’s getting tough to drag this deal out any longer now, even for him.

“So, listen Thomas, what about intern that waters the astroturfs? They seem like they have talent, should we go back to Brentford and see if we can bring them over as well?”
