Player Mathys Tel

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

The Cochrane fella has been specifically mentioned in how he has improved Wissa and Eze to the levels they're at now. From a standing start, comparing them at the same stage of their careers, I reckon Tel has more about him than Wissa, and could be excellent, there's no point really considering last year, he was brought in as we really needed numbers, I thought he did well mostly but ordinarily you'd never expect a fresh 19 year old to be thrown in as much as he was. I'm excited to see what the new coaches can do with the youth we've brought in and will be bringing in.

That’s most of our fan base then. Half of them still believe in Santa.

Nearly 1 million people a year visit Lapland to see Santa.

Hundreds of millions of people go to a Santas grotto ever December. Spending millions of pounds/dollars/yen/rupees.

And on average 2 people a year die after getting stuck in a chimney dressed as Santa. (I may have made this up).

Xmas day is believed to be heading towards a trillion dollar industry.

I thinks it’s fair to say in some way he definitely exists for a lot of people.
As much as this God fellow people talk about.

Maybe he’s even more real than him! :mourshock:

Agreed, this guy is miles ahead of Mikey Moore, we would be mad not to sign him
Don't disagree but only for the right price. He had many more opportunities to show than Mikey and generally failed to impress. There might be a player in there worth taking a punt on for say £25m ish, £35m is too much imo and only looks reasonable because of the ridiculous £50m+ price Bayern placed on him pre loan.

Do a season loan with option to buy. If he becomes as good as the TFC ‘experts’ say he will, we buy him.

Come back here in a year and we’ll see what’s happened..

Most sensible option, and what was right for Ange might not be for TF. he has to see him for himself in training to make the call for the long term. I do think if it wasn't Bayern the price would be more like the 25M mark and they'll probably take that eventually, plus another loan fee

Still plenty of time for him obviously but I dont think we should be spending a sizeable amount of our budget on him. He's another project, we need the finished article.

The fact is he fits our current model. It's not like Spurs are out there big game hunting. Agree with the process or not, but that's just how Spurs are operating.

At best we're looking at one top attacking player like Eze, but if Palace stand firm with needing 60 mill upfront, we all know it's not happening.

I like him.

He seems to have embraced the club and wants to be here.

He definitely needs to hit the weight room and develop more upper-body strength... particularly if he's going to be used as a #9, but the talent and his competitive spirit are obvious.

FWIW, per Transfermarkt, he's tied with two other players for 9th highest market value amongst U-20 forwards.

Edit: And, tied for 1st amongst "Centre-Forwards".

I do sometimes wonder what some "supporters" who habitually slag off Tottenham players and post dreamily about non-Tottenham players are actually, yanno, supporting?

Never Levy, rarely the manager, few if any of the players, hate the kit, slag off the stadium, new badge is shit...

:porrohands:

It’s called talking up the manager, the players etc when they’re actually good, and not just because you’d like to think they’re all good.

Tel has done zilch to show he will be anything at all.

No we will be mad to sign him.

It's like the same shit happens again and again and fans fall for the same shit all the time. Signing him makes it less likely we sign the proven player we so desperately need.

The amount of people that were calling for Tyer fucking Dibling at one point was actually quite scary. I get why Levy continuously does it now when it's so easy to fool the fanbase.
Tyler Dibbling is actually a really good young player. Technically very good already. Great ball retention for a youngster. I’d rather Judge each player individually. I wasn’t keen on us signing Gray, but would be up for signing Dibbling. Not keen on Tel. He doesn’t look smooth on the ball at all. Don’t see any part of his game that gets me hopeful.

I dream of the "Summer Preseason Thread" where we're excited about who the next academy graduate is, personally, rather than the bullshit "who has the most shiney new expensive players" competition sky created

Yep, I agree. It's sorry times for us on the recruitment front. Fine targeting the very top level youngsters for big money, but he isnt even that.
