We will forever be grateful to Ange for finishing slightly above the relegation zone so the next manager has less pressure taking over. What a cult hero!

It hasn't been 20 years, but I won't lie, it was like 9 years ago.
Like "country" music, its all fake now. Pop music and hip hop with forced fake accents. Wildly drunken Bachelorette parties screaming incessantly outside all new megaclubs that are all hype. Still some good troubadors on Broadway, but you're unlikely to really see one anymore.

Outside of the caricature of honky tonks that remain, its just the same bog standard generic US city. Hard to tell it from Charlotte or St. Louis or Cincinnati or Atlanta or Kansas City or Phoenix. Same city, different background.

Memphis might kill you, but its one of the few unique cities in the US still. NOLA, the NE Corridor metros, Chicago, LA, SF, Portland, Dallas, San Antonio, Miami, Orlando (only because of the mouse). Everything else is just the same place with different weather, I don't even feel like Houston has an original authenticity left anymore.

And it's not JUST Ange. Good work has been done by Levy/Lange/Paratici to continue turning over the squad, getting younger and with better characters in the dressing room, and just improving and modernizing the recruitment operation generally.

Ange benefitted from that stuff as surely as Frank will (the nadir of the squad was back with Nuno), but it was an unproven step into the unknown at the time he was taking over.

Spurs go into 25/26 stronger than they went into 23/24. That's categorically inarguable, beyond any rational debate.

It's only when you insert the name of the Bad Aussie Man that people go insane and start twisting any truth to fashion into a stick to beat him with.

"Mason disaster season" was what Tottenham Hotspur had become in that moment. There were no more false idol Conte's to paper over the rot that had been festering through the club since the Summer 2018 betrayal.

We didn't fill that hole in Bilbao. But we did at least stop digging.

Amusing how riled up these basic facts get people on here.

No dickheads and all that

They genuinely, and I mean this with the best of intentions, are not quite all there.

Leave them to it. The message should be: we have a proper manager now and things should get better.

But he might need time as this team have forgotten what coaching is.

Time will tell but i'm very happy with the appointment and him getting his back room staff. The last 2 years has just felt so amateurish, personified by that chucked together coaching team.

Fair play to the powers that be as well. They could have taken the cheap, cowardly approach and stuck with what we had but have acted and for once got their first choice by stumping up the dough. The truth now, as always, will be in who we sign. Can they back this decent move up?

Ange joined us with no European football, a 15 year trophy drought, and preparing to sell the club's all-time leading scorer.

Ange left us with the trophy hoodoo broken and in the Champions League.

"Poor Thomas, our prayers that you might survive the disaster the Bad Fraud Man left for you"
Such a disingenuous post removing all context.

But if we’re removing that fine, ange joined us a team who hadn’t finished bottom half of the league for 20 years and leaves us with our lowest finish for nearly 50.

38 league games is a better barometer for the state of your team than 15 cup games .

They just aren't smart enough to distinguish "the situation is better now" from "Ange did a good job and should still be the manager"

Oh well, not going to let it bother me. Onward.

The idea of that second one really offends them so much they still can’t get over their obsession.

Rent free doesn’t cover it.

Agree though, Frank is next up on the wheel of Spurs. Good luck to him, he’s going to need it but he’s definitely got a good situation to come into.

Seems to me that Vinai Venkatesham has started to cook.

The transfer window will be very telling though.
