Can't think of the last time a manager left us for another job voluntarily?

It's actually shocking, isn't it?
Some have ended up at bigger/better clubs, but i can't think of a single manager to have been taken from us?

But then again, that's the difference between is and where our managers have come from.
We've taken the likes of Redknapp, Poch, Hoddle, Frank, etc from from the Pompey, Southampton, Brentford level clubs.
Once you hit Spurs the only way up is typically the "mega clubs" like United, Spanish Duo, Bayern, maybe Chavs but couldn't see many coaches swapping to them from us without the sack.

It's not like Liverpool, United Arse, even Chelsea have had their managers poached either when you think about it.

The feeling of waking up with a competent person in charge of your club instead of Ange the Clown is unbeatable. So secure. Slept like a baby last night. I feel safe

Couldn’t relate more. Has felt like a nightmare under Ange. Like being taken over by a tin pot dictator.

Tear the (thankfully non existent) statues down and wipe clean the slate - someone normal is in charge.

Did he though, we are in the CL next season , maybe that doesn't happen if we parted ways with Ange last Christmas......
Levy took a risk on keeping Ange so long, but for the most part that risk actually paid off , we also lost a lot of games by a single goal , so with a good tactically acute manager bringing across a whole new entourage of coaches hopefully it shouldn't take much to get the team back to winning ways in the PL.
True that we will never know that fore sure. But I wouldn't bet on a guy losing 22 times. It was not Ange ball that won the EL. It was a fair bit of luck combined with something opposite Dyche could have pulled off.
We got the CL which was obviously great but I think a lot of damage were done under Ange that will take time to reverse.

Except for Leicester, I can't think of many examples of teams doing really well after finishing so close to bottom. And Leicester had momentum at the end of the season. We were some serial losers, getting battered also in the end. Nah, I don't think any manager just takes us back to top 5 in one season but hope I'm wrong.

Article from Liew was fantastic apart from where he summarised why Ange is such a fraud beautifully and then erm .. said we should keep him on anyway.

Weird.

Spurs hold talks with Brentford over deal for Mbeumo

Latest from Sky Sports News' Michael Bridge and Lyall Thomas:

Tottenham have held initial discussions with Brentford about a deal for Bryan Mbeumo.

Spurs are interested in Mbeumo and Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo - both are players they admire.

Mbeumo is understood to be more intrigued by a move to Tottenham now that Thomas Frank has become their head coach.

And Spurs have received encouragement about a potential deal now that the Dane has made the switch to North London.

Last week we reported Spurs had stepped up their interest in Semenyo prior to sacking Ange Postecoglou.

Manchester United had a bid rejected for Mbeumo before Spurs started talks to hire Frank.

And we reported last week that United are expected to make another offer for the Cameroon star. United are also interested in Semenyo too.

Fatty I don't want to relitigate the past it's all speculative would Hulk beat Superman in a fight stuff. But glorious though that Europa League win was, things fell our way draw wise in a wonderful way. I think had you swapped out the incumbent with any competent coach we would imho won that tournament. Now here's the thing maybe that luck is attached to the particular coach in some weird unquantifiable way. His mutant power if you like. But I honestly think any number of EPL current/past coaches get our squad to that end result. And the behind the scenes stuff I'm told was a mess might have meant we got to the final with more of our first team fit.
Frank would have romped that comp whilst finishing higher in the league.
