The thing with this is United will beat us comfortably on wages. It’s not even close really. If they push for him and offer silly wages, we’ve not got a lot of moves left.

He's settled in London and has worked well under Frank. Really close to Wissa and a few others.

I can't really see, money aside, why anyone would want Man Utd. Very few players (if any) improve when they go there, and there's a good chance they will change manager soon enough (IMO), and he'll be competing potentially with Diallo, Sancho, Garnacho etc. at the current state

Cos we're man united

With us likely to lose Son and given both Mbeumo and Semenyo are rumoured to cost circa £70m each, Mbeumo has to be first choice on the following grounds:

- a Frank favourite
- proven goal scorer and assists
- a clear better G/A return to Semenyo
- he’s a wide forward whereas Semenyo is more of a wide attacking midfielder
- Frank at Brentford played wide forwards as opposed to wingers

Knowing us, we’ll sign Semenyo 🤣

Wouldn't accept a free drink from him

History innit, that’s why they beat us in the final, their history

Tactically as well Mbeumo knows where he will fit for Frank at Spurs, surely he is looking himself at the formation Utd played last season and asking himself where he fits in? He isn't built to be a 9 in the PL, he doesn't have much aerial presence, and wouldn't do well playing with his back to goal, so he's going up against new £62.5m signing Cunha and current best player in the team Bruno Fernandes for one of the 10 roles behind the 9.

What’s the bare minimum?

Left sided defender that can play LB & LCB
CB - *only if Romero leaves
DM - critical - number 1 position needed
LWF - essential too - need a top quality ready made first team Sonny replacement - (tricky no idea who?)

Then nice to have
Another 10? Eze, Grealish type? Creative midfielder to take pressure of Maddison and Kulu

A proper 9 - I’m talking Oshimen, Sesko, Guokeres make Solanke no. 2 w sell Richy.

The first 4 should be non negotiable, ready made first team quality players ready for CL.

The latter 2, I guess we could do without

There have been almost zero rumours about a LB or LCB, so I think its a position we think we can muddle through on like last season.

If Romero leaves, needs replacing

DM likely upgrade on Bentancur.

Up front we have Solanke, Johnson and Odobert who will be our core attackers with - an age related declining Son,
- a constantly injury hit Richarlison who needs to move as he's rarely available to play
- an18 year old in August Miley Moore who will play maybe twice as much as last season.
- 18 year old Yang didn't show enough at QPR last season so another loan.

I think we pass on Tel who needs too much development to bring in a more experienced player able to hit the deck now for goals/assists etc.

If we can get a decent fee for Son, then I think he goes and we buy as good as we can find, if money available.

So in short we are likely to need 2 decent forwards in to join Solanke, Johnson, Odober and a developing Mikey Moore. We may need either Scarlett or Lankshear in the squad to help cover no 9 position as we might be light in terms of forwards.

Likely bring Donley (covering Madison/Kulusevski creativity) and Devine (covering DM, AM and both wings) into squad - both List B so not taking up squad place
