Management Thomas Frank

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

The clown, nightmare, tip-pot dictator, fat Greek cunt etc. who brought us our first European trophy in 41 years.

I'm happy with the change, 100% behind Frank, glad it was done with a minimum of fuss, excited about what the future might hold and so forth, but the endless bile heaped upon Postecoglou is ridiculous, vile at times (the FGC thing for example, whoever posted that should be ashamed of themselves).

I think if we somehow managed to win the PL one day , but we won it by Goal difference some of our fans would kick off as we only won it by goal difference, that 1 penalty we got, if we never got that then we wouldn't have won! :frankfacepalm:

How about a nice packet of Danish pastries on every seat for the first home game. C'mon Daniel - you know you love us.

More importantly, when will Viking helmets be available in the club shop?

Enough of this kangaroo shit.

Ange has convinced the players that losing is OK. I think it will take a miracle to change that so quickly and make them perform like one of the 5 best teams. Just managing to lose half the games of Ange would be an achievement in itself. It could take us to top 5 but may also leave us a few places worse.
Levy has to accept that he messed up with Ange and waited too long. If he expects some miracle, it just shows how naive he is.

Need some proper signings to even have a chance. A player like BJ can never be a starter for example. More recruitments like that and we'll end of bottom half.
Given that Tottenham have only lost less than 11 games in a handful of seasons over the last 30 years, it would frankly be a miracle if we only lose 10 or fewer matches in the league next season.

In Thomas Frank's best season in the Premier League he managed 9 losses, which I accept is a brilliant achievment with Brentford. But last season he had 14, and the season before he had 19. That's only 3 less than you-know-who.

Look, I get everyone's excited about the shiny new manager, and I want him to be a roaring success too. But as a Spurs supporter (yes, I am!) of over 40 years, I've seen all this before.

Over in the ENIC thread I've been pointing out that League position correlates most strongly to wages. Over the last 10 years we've had the 6th or 7th highest wage budget in the Premier League, and Levy if anything has driven that down even further.

Therefore top 6-8 is par for Spurs. If Thomas Frank is going to be here long term he's going to need to be finishing in the top four regularly, just as Pochettino did. Anything less and he'll be out on his ear.

I’m happy about the trophy it’s one of the best nights of my life. But from August 13th-May 20th, that was easily the worst year of Spurs football in my entire life.
Yeah, I can see that, imagine it much more so if I put myself in the shoes of those spending a fortune on going to games.

But.... but... Bilbao. That purged so much hurt for me, brought so much unrestrained joy and tears and so on. I'm very adverse to any downplaying of that, even more so the sucking of any pleasure from the achievement.

But obviously, Spurs is so much more than the manager or any player. I loved Bill and Keith and Glenn and Harry and all the rest but Tottenham Hotspur Football Club soars above them all.

And it's a fresh page for Thomas Frank's Blue & White Army.

Let's be having 'em!

Really?
Are you comparing some of us seeing the Europa league for what it is to this?
If you win the PL by GD you've been the best team in the strongest league in the world. Even by a tiny margin.

Vs a string of backs to the wall performances against a bunch of farmers.

You'd have played over twice as many games against every last team in that league unlike any cup competition too.
Winning a league when you're not overpowered like City or free spending Chelsea is far more difficult than winning a cup populated by teams that would stand no chance in your own domestic league.

Mate the day-to-day with him was absolutely fucking unbearable. It was basically constant panic of “which one of our players has done his hamstring now”, “will Ange change his tactics or will we continue to concede the same goal for the 100th time”, “could we actually get relegated”? Worst part was how we were continuously gaslit that things were actually going well.

I’m happy about the trophy it’s one of the best nights of my life. But from August 13th-May 20th, that was easily the worst year of Spurs football in my entire life. Getting battered and embarrassed in over half our league games was frustrating and humiliating. I hated almost every week of it, and if we’re being honest, so did just about everyone aside from the Ange cultists.

I didn't follow much, other than the Europa, which I did not think we could win

I ticked out of the PL in February or March. Was too painful.

I am not going to pass judgement on Frank until he has had a few months to a season, but I am so relieved Postecoglou has gone, without wishing him anything but good luck wherever he goes next.

I have a few mates in Denmark who tell me the country is very excited about Frank being given such a high profile job. It’s not like Ange and the Aussie fandom levels but a lot of Danes will follow and hope we win now .

Far more interest than when we had peak Eriksen apparently

Its a joke, chill out :frankthumbs:

I have never called him that but I reserve the right to not like him as a bloke and to have hated almost every second of his time in charge.

I caveat that with yes, he did win the trophy, but I view that in context that I won’t go over as it’s been done to death.

You’re welcome to remember him fondly - I won’t, I will remember the cupping the ear to the fans, the embarrassing press moments, the ego which showed every five seconds..

Frank is much more my speed - measured, intelligent and a gentleman by all accounts. I’m happy he’s at the helm.
Completely agree. No need to be mean but you don't have to like anyone, and the gaslighting really got on my nerves as well as the bizarre confrontations with fans, press, etc., maybe he's a good guy behind the scenes but the optics were pretty shocking if we're honest.

Like you much happier Frank is at the helm - I guarantee the guy won't annoy me at least. Good luck to him.

Get your tongue out of his arsehole, Gary.

Dogs do that.

You're not a dog are you Gary?

True that we will never know that fore sure. But I wouldn't bet on a guy losing 22 times. It was not Ange ball that won the EL. It was a fair bit of luck combined with something opposite Dyche could have pulled off.
We got the CL which was obviously great but I think a lot of damage were done under Ange that will take time to reverse.

Except for Leicester, I can't think of many examples of teams doing really well after finishing so close to bottom. And Leicester had momentum at the end of the season. We were some serial losers, getting battered also in the end. Nah, I don't think any manager just takes us back to top 5 in one season but hope I'm wrong.

Postecoglou literally did that in his first season. No Kane. The club in disarrray. Team. Morale down the toilet. Injuries to key players.

Frank inherits a united and high on morale squad with European winning experience and a winning record when the starting eleven are fit. He's got his own succesful backroom team, no doubt will re-enforce the playing squad with his own players. He has no excuses for not equalling Postecoglou's first season

Yeah feel very zen with him in charge. The ego isn’t there and he just has a calming presence. He may well not be ‘elite’ but he is likeable and I am glad he is here.
