As I said in the transfer thread, it's a very good deal. The kid has extremely high potential, and he was struggling in the best/ most physical league in the World, playing for a side without proper coaching. If coached properly, he has a higher potential than Son, and I'm not exaggerating it.

Where should he play to be put in the best position to succeed? He’s not really a striker or winger, kind of an odd hybrid of both.
 
so underwhelmed by this , hasn’t shown me anything to suggest he will be a top player . Surely £30m can be spent towards a better player , we’ve qualified for the champs league , we need a ready made winger not another raw kid like Odobert , it stinks of lazy recruitment .
 
I was short £100 a point Sell-Tel and was waiting to collect my winnings when he came on for st etienne as a second half sub 24 months from now

However he’s here and I can only hope I’m nursing a hefty loss on Tel becoming an unmitigated success for THFC

It’s really £40m… you can’t imagine this is a good use of precious funds

He is good at waving at fans after a loss so there is that
 
Not impressed with him last season at all, for either Bayern or us. I just don't see anything he excels at. He's decent at a lot of things but great at nothing.

That said, 30 million in today's market is peanuts for a player that is still somewhat highly rated throughout Europe.

But yeah we're proper serious about competing on all fronts and that stadium was a gamechanger.

Wow, he managed to bumble past a few opponents at times. Had enough time and patently showed nothing in his speed, technical ability, or intelligence to get excited about. There's no aspect where he stands out above meh.

If he was some elite young prospect, I doubt Bayern would be getting rid.

Who else is coming? Levy won't pay out for better players so, we are left in the middle section to buy.
 
Considering our league form January onwards you can't judge him by that. According to Ange he sacked off the league from Jan onwards so impossible to get an informed opinion on him. Bayern bought him for near €30m as a teenager and he did well enough there. Has a huge ceiling and will now have a manager with proven track record for improving players.
I'm excited to see what he can do next few years
