What actually was his injury?
I keep seeing "injured patella" which is a bone. Did he actually damage the patella or is it a cartilage injury?

I'm partly curious as I smashed my patella, knee cap, whatever, into a door last year and it went through the cartilage behind it and bruised the bone.
Until that day i ran 10 miles a day.
Now I don't run.

There is a patella tendon that crosses the kneecap and connects the thigh to the the tibia.

It helps with stabilizing the knee and with distributing force from the quads downwards to generate power in the leg as well as with stretching the leg.

So it could be that that got injured.

I always find it odd how vague the information given is on player injuries.
I think they think we're all idiots who "wouldn't understand anyway"

If he can do it you can do it!! The human body is designed to move!!

Maybe just give yourself 6 or so hours to do 10miles.

If he doesn’t perform this season then get rid next summer .
Weird post about a player who (a) was one of our best players last season, and (b) is out injured until Oct / Nov and has missed all of pre-season. Personally I’d keep Kulu over Johnson for the RWF position. Like Kudus, Kulu and hold onto the ball, get us up the pitch, and is very creative.
