You simply are unable to concede a single point.

The guy you love, Romero. Levy bought him.

Doesn't matter when, how, he did it.

You dont have to like Levy or agree with 90% of what he does but he still bought him to the club.

Yes he bought him

He also bought Bale and Modric and Berbatov, and Walker…

But that’s not the point so why would I struggle to concede it?

The point is that selling Romero will considerably weaken us because we don’t and won’t sign a player with the same level to replace him.

will be great to see Romero and VdV be in a position next season to defend like proper center backs in a proper system. they're going to show what they're really capable of. it would be madness to willingly sell him. selling romero from under this teams feet would be terrible for morale too.

Spoiler alert, 2 of the 5 candidates to replace Romero if he’s sold are already at the club 😂😂

The other 3 are Guehi who they know is going to get offered higher wages elsewhere, Branthwaite who is a non-passing LCB, and Nathan Collins.

That’s why I’m not up for selling Romero because you know they already see Danso and Dragusin as the replacements.

Didnt Guehi already agree personal terms with Liverpool ? thats what it says this side of the pond.

Viktor Gyokeres footage speaks volumes as Woolwich target spotted with Tottenham ace

Guehi is SO overrated.

I’m not keen on Branthwaite OR Collins either, TBH.

He’s gonna be a top player, I fear Frank wants an experienced 6 this summer though. Hope we don’t buy a plodder and go for someone with a high ceiling.

He’s 23 already though. Played enough in La Liga that he’s far from a rookie. Definitely ready now.

I’ll be honest I agree with you that I’m dreading what they will do for #6 if they go for an older player. We tend to get x1 50-60m player then maybe a 40m player after that. I’m assuming the 50-60m player and 40m player will be attacking players

I'm not sure we're really missing. The guy has been out for around a year, just recently got back - and according to Transfermarkt, he was also out with an 'unknown injury' for the last three matches of the season.

I don't think Barca is getting him for their first team. They're getting him because he will be a good business case no matter the outcome; his contract expires in 6 months so they'll be getting him for cheap. They will probably loan him out right away and if he's going to develop into a great player they might keep him - and if he's not making the cut, they'll just sell him, probably still with a profit.

What are they specifically?

Mostly homegrown or club trained issues. Club trained being the most obvious for me.

Instead for filling a club trained slot with a winger, striker or DM, we can jump on the back of a Cirkin or KWP type deal and ensure that its only backup LB or RB we fill that number with as opposed to needing to fill other areas with a younger player that comes through the ranks that may not be PL level or is just too green for the responsibility

One club trained player who never gets a mention in these conversations when we’re trying to boost our quota is Cameron Carter-Vickers.

I’m a Dundee United fan and have no time for Celtic whatsoever, but he’s been absolutely outstanding since he signed there. Not just in the league but in Europe as well. He’s strong as an ox and is very quick for a centre half too. And he’s now got experience of playing at a high level for a huge club with big expectations and at 26 is still a good age. His only drawback is that he’s a bit on the short side for a CB, but he’s built like the side of a house and is extremely physically dominant.

Its a shame cause folk would’ve probably moaned if we’d signed him January but in all honesty, there’s probably not a great deal of difference in ability between him and Danso. We’d have been much smarter to sign him with the Club Trained quota in mind.

You’d have gotten him for roughly around what we’ve paid for Danso too. I think it’s just that shiny new toy syndrome and a bit of snobbery about bringing back someone who didn’t do much for us the first time around, but outside of Kane and Madueke, he’s probably the academy player that’s gone on to do the best in recent years.
Excellent passer of the ball but a wee bit slow..
