Transfers The Summer Transfer Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

He’ll go out on loan I suspect. Nobody is making the jump from such a minor league to the premier league never mind at that age. He’s got 6 months left on his contract and we are paying £5m for him, which seems a lot if you ask me. Guess it’s easier to write off transfer fees over 5 years in the hope you get a fee rather than giving a player wages. That’s how the club usually see it from historical evidence.
Don't think he'll being going out on loan IMO. Already played lots of top flight games in the J League and has played for Japan. Think they'll keep him around.

The situation it gives the impression Romero and Dragusin are off. Vuskovic has just had a brilliant spell in Belgium, this kid is already a Japanese international. They aren’t Championship loan players like Dorrington, if they ain’t playing we at least need loans to say Bayer Laverkusen or somewhere where they will challenge themselves.

If we don’t loan and Romero and Dragusin stay we have Romero, VDV, Danso and Dragusin ahead.

We legit know that Lange and others have been brought in to do stuff like this. Brighton and Brentford make a living on signing like this Mitoma being a prime example.

This is obviously the model we wanna follow
Sugar saw us as Wimbledon with fans and Levy has now settled on something similar. I have my doubts as to whether it can be made to work (we end up paying prices they don't and have expectation they don't) but it is what it is.

I think it's a good idea to follow in a world surrounded with cheating blood money doped clubs we need an edge. As long as we still drop big money when the times right like an Eze this season it's a good thing

Anyone else confused by our transfer strategy of buying loads of left sided forwards and being linked with Eze . Son obviously may leave but we would have , Son , Odobert , Tel , Yang , Richi , Moore and possibly Eze . Meanwhile on the right we have Johnson and occasionally Kulu .

Yes he bought him

He also bought Bale and Modric and Berbatov, and Walker…

But that’s not the point so why would I struggle to concede it?

The point is that selling Romero will considerably weaken us because we don’t and won’t sign a player with the same level to replace him.

It is the point for me when you make the same point about Levynomics constantly....

Difference being Tony Bloom the Brighton owner isn’t saying he wants to win the CL and PL . I agree we seem to be following that model , it just grinds my gears that Baldy takes us all for mugs with his constant bullshit

You can make any point you like mate but you replied to me making the point that Levynomics won’t alllow for us to replace Romero with a similar quality player if we sell him.

And you haven’t even attempted to engage in that point. Most likely because you can’t.

And in the meantime we’ve signed a 20 year old from Japan in Romero’s position with everyone trying to gas it up saying he’s “in the Romero mould” as if he’s going to be anywhere near Romeros level in the next 3 years.

Did Levy ever ask the fans if they wanted to pay top ticket prices for the “Brighton and Brentford model”?

Did anyone ever ask him how the Brighton and Brentford model is ever expected to win major trophies for us when it’s a buy to sell business model for them?

The quote was cringe but it isn't half as cringe as people constantly bringing it up.

Have any teams done well playing under 21's at CB? Only examples I can think of are Huijsen, Fofana and Saliba.

I can't see Spurs seriously expecting to play 18 & 20 year olds for any serious fixtures. Way too young for a CB.

For me I’m thinking Frank wants to play back 3 and at most sell Romero.

RCB: Danso, Takai
CCB: Dragusin, Vuskovic
LCB: VdV, Davies

Plus Gray also

Dragusin will be out a while too. Davies can be safely not played as well.

Agree with you about Romero and Dragusin probably going this window. I'm OK with Takai, VDV, Vuskovic, Danso and Phillips as CB's. Really need an experienced DM in front of them.

But these young players Vuskovic and Takai have been playing at a fairly high level and have both played for their national teams. They are not like a young academy kid that needs toughening up in lower leagues.

Another Grand Bargain Bin signing by Daniel Levy. 20 year old 5 million Japanese Player that will probably make the club 50 million in shirt sales. He'll also line up another Eastern Country for pre match friendlies 2026. Can get better than this. Hotels and Apartments don't pay for them selves.

We have had Sonny at our club for 10 years giving his all, becoming club legend… here we have still “fans” who are of so much reductive thinking that we sign Asian players only for shirt sales !

I remember same nonsense spouted when we tried to sign Kim Min Jae.

KMJ - linked , didn’t sign
Lee Kang In - linked , didn’t sign
Ko Itakura - linked , didn’t sign
Mitoma- interested , didn’t sign

Only player we did sign was a youngster who we loaned out.

1 Asian player in 10 yrs of Sonny at the club…

Do you see how nonsensical this notion is, that Levy signs Asian players for shirt sales 🤦‍♂️

And I am not pro Levy …
