Transfers The Summer Transfer Thread 2025

Fuck off you greedy Canadian hack. You’re not that good.
Alternatively, what if he cost €40M in fee and played for €104k/wk? Or €28M and €150k/wk?

Still arguably not worth all the first fee (definitely worth the first salary), but its not greedy. Clubs essentially throw a lot of money away on transfer fees and players end up losing a lot of their earning potential in the process. It's honestly shocking more players don't run their contracts down.

I don't think he's far off. He's comfortably the only world class player we have and he won us that Europa League. He showed his dominant class in all them knock out games. His presence and calmness was the difference. If he wasn't available we would have got knocked out by Frankfurt in Germany and we wouldn't have won the final either. Top top player when he's available and motivated.

Argentina would not have won the world cup without Romero and we would not have won the Europa League without Romero. They are two undisputable facts. Romero is clearly a difference maker.

Who do we replace him with? He's completely different class to the likes of Guehi and Braintwaithe and they'd cost just as much! And we all know how this club works. We won't replace him and it'll be a big drop off to the likes of Danso and Dragusin.
He may be a top defender but don’t think his world class. How many mistakes did he make last season. And I’m not saying it was just the tactics. His marking or clearances were shocking at times.

The situation it gives the impression Romero and Dragusin are off. Vuskovic has just had a brilliant spell in Belgium, this kid is already a Japanese international. They aren’t Championship loan players like Dorrington, if they ain’t playing we at least need loans to say Bayer Laverkusen or somewhere where they will challenge themselves.

If we don’t loan and Romero and Dragusin stay we have Romero, VDV, Danso and Dragusin ahead.
Really don't think we bought a Japanese teenager to send him off to learn German. Think he'll be in our U23s and play some cup matches and/or a L1/Championship loan.

Inevitable. I think the expectation is that one of Takai or Vuskovic will remain at the club this season and the other will go on loan. Frank will decide which one during pre-season. Whoever stays will struggle for minutes behind Danso and Dragusin. Hopefully Romero stays as can't see us replacing him if he doesn't.

Can't understand why we gave Ben Davies an extra year unless it was just to demand a small fee from whoever wants him! Didn't do Ben Davies any favours anyway. Can't imagine he'll play any games next season! Although we do need to sign a left back!
100% davies was unnecessary! He is just blocking the development of one of the youngsters. Dorrington was captain of our u21 that won the league. He will be discarded even without any first team experience. He played well at Aberdeen in the SPL and won a cup. Philips did well at stoke. What is the point of sending players out on loan to get experience and minutes then discard all that when they come back. We really do have a fucked policy with regards our youth and the purchase of younger players.

Been close to getting Mbuemo for a good month now.

He's United bound.

I think the club have moved on to another option. It's obvious that he wants them as a first option, one thing is for sure, that if United land him for something like 70 million and adding Cuna's fee of 63 million then I can't see United having the funding this transfer window to add much more quality to their squad.

That is unless Ratcliffe was lying over their financial plight.

Those staff he lad off must be really pleased with this.
