Other than making him a European champion and part of our most successful squad in 41 years, of course.

"European champion" doing a lot of legwork here. I guess Maresca made quite a few "european champions" too.

Solanke scored 9 in 27 league games having hit 19 the season before. Ange definitely didn't get the best out of him regardless of a comfortable cup run leading to a trophy.

He was a half decent player but couldn’t finish himself off, and lacked athleticism to prosper in the PL. his touch and passing were decent
Soldado also suffered a bit from the system we played when he arrived - when he started at Valencia he had Vicente and Joaquin putting crosses in for him (mostly on the deck on to the penalty spot) all day long. We played with inverted wingers and barely gave him the ball, which presumably then dented his confidence. Another example of us buying the "wrong" player because we just saw stats and not what actually contributed to those stats

In regards to Kudus: Apaprently his 85 mil release clause for PL clubs expires after July 10.

If there is a deal to be made there then West Ham are going to try and keep him until then hoping that someone pays the clause.

didnt see that Newcastle submitted (supposedly) a 50m bid for Tapsoba. be annoying if he ends up there but we would only bid if we knew Romero was leaving.

Makes a mockery of that 70m Guehi bid end of Jan , Levy had knew there was no chance palace would except that late. PR exercise
he really is a bastard

Quality of players added and removed to the squads

We'll start this season with a good deal stronger squad and first team than we started 24/25 season with :

Bergvall took until last Christmas to become a first team starter. Not yet peaked but looks a good option

Solanke settled into become a decent striker, pressing and acting as focal point. 20+ goals and assists per season

Gray - Highly versatile player

Odobert - Good option as L/R winger, shame was injured most of last season after 2 relatively injury seasons in PL and French League

Spence - Rehabilitated RB/LB

Tel - Certainly an upgrade on Werner. Lets see how he gets on

Kinsky - Upgrade on Forster. 2nd benefit was we found 3rd GK Austin far better than expected

Danso - solid option as CB.

Moore - Proved as a 17 year old he could start to affect games. As an 18 year old will probably play 3 times as much as last season

Goalscoring shared amongst 5 players (Solanke, Maddison, Kulusevski, Johnson and Son) with 20+ goals/assists from each. So no reliance upon one player only

There are also a number of youngsters who Frank may choose (or not to bring into squad (Vuskovic, Donley, Devine et al), many of whom do not take up a squad place. Ange did not have the option of young players with some experience to consider.

In summary we start from a squad which can be improved upon rather than half a squad bulked up by the likes of Lo Celso and Emerson.

So based on what you are saying we should sell him. Not good enough defensively plus needs to work on his end product. Basically shit
He's a kid that's joined a dysfunctional club, of course he's got things to work on. If he was the best LB in the PL or world, he wouldn't be here.

Be nice if some of youse could stop looking for cunt offs by distorting people's words.

I think all that can be refined by Frank and coaching staff though, I think his future lies as a winger, he's 24 so he's the right age to improve.
He’s always going to favour coming in field as he’s really quite one footed. I’m not convinced that players change that much fundamentally and especially at 24. He’s always going to hold onto the ball too long, he’s always going to try do too much and shoot from silly angles, I don’t see him improving his vision or football IQ.

The attitude and work ethic would be enough of a red flag but a lot of West Ham fans don’t rate him on the ball either. He’d be a really stupid signing

Exactly what I’m saying.

Objectively, our squad improved more to a man over our biggest competitors for that 5th spot SINCE we already finished there.

And it finished 5th with a coaching and staff who everyone says were hopeless.

Without an injury crisis and a deep run in every cup and Europe, anything less than 5th will be a poor season.

as things currently stand i think we're considerably weaker than:

Liverpool
City
Arse
Chelsea

so we're looking at a 3 way battle with Newcastle and Villa for 5th. while trying to be competitive in cups. Frank can kiss goodbye to that hairline tbh:frankwtf:
