To which Levy replied "It IS a question of money and a case of profit over people. I love Tottenham and it will always be in my wallet."

Maybe his family want to speak Spanish but footballers forget that pretty quick if the money is good enough. Saudi weather is shit and nobody speaks SpanishProbably also wants to play for an Argentine, beside Argentine players, speak his own language, enjoy better weather and be in a city that has a better “pretty:complete hole” ratio than London.
Maybe earlier on in negotiations not when man u made it clear they were seriousCarrick was willing to stay if we made him our highest paid player. Apparently.
Easier said then done. Only way is if Frank and Lange say he isnt in their plans and wont play but how do you that to Son? Really does amplify the folly of dishing out these extensions. Both Son and Davies should have been allowed frees due to their length of service. I'm sure the club do it as they either get a fee if they can sell or it means they dont have to spend as the squads packed. Win win for them. This isn't the Son club nor should anyone care what Son wants, he has been a great player but his age and form as well as wages at the highest level says it's time to say goodbye.
Just have a frank conversation with him and let him know the club needs to move him on for it's own good and deal with the transition this year instead of having another year of declining performance.I agree he should go. But how dare do you take that I he wants to stay?
Would you publicly transfer list him? Stick him in the reserves? Remove the captaincy? Make him train on his own?
Tough one to deal with if he wants to stay.
I think he can still be useful off the bench, the question is whether Frank has the balls to bench him. This isn't the Son club nor should anyone care what Son wants, he has been a great player but his age and form as well as wages at the highest level says it's time to say goodbye.
Are you having a stroke?

If Levy could fire Ange after a European trophy then it shows the club is objective and not driven by emotions.
I was naive enough to once believe in DL and Enic.
Build a stadia and facilities to attract top players.
Use the side hustle revenue from that stadia to pay for those players and finally look to become a consistent top European club, the 20 year plan had been completed. (please don't quote our Europa League win).
What I now realise is that under Enic we will continue to put the shareholders and board members first, penny pinching on the on field activities, continuing to make us nothing more than an average club in the scheme of things.

Thomas Frank is said to be happy with the squad he’s seen in training and doesn’t feel wholesale changes will be required.
Didn’t think that was the case, but maybe so. Nevertheless, one example from 20 years ago.
But the wider point that we don’t pay high enough wages stands.
Maybe earlier on in negotiations not when man u made it clear they were serious

Thought I’d clicked on the wrong website!

Have you replaced your Romero shirt with a Kudos one yet? In the new Black "In Darkness we Dare" kit.
Yeah but its not like we've done anything like that sinceThat better player was Zokora.
We lost one of the best midfielders of the premier league era.
And signed Zokora.
Frank's system is different than Postecoglou's and Son will play better in it. He won't reverse the hands of time, but he will likely get more opportunity to do the things he does best. Unless Spurs were going to bring in a world beater at his position, and it doesn't look like that is in the cards, then having him on the squad for another season is not a bad thing. We have to do what Sonny wants since he is legend. He wants to stay, we need to accept that.
But i really hoped he would decide to leave. Would be beneficial for all parties I believe for various reasons.
If he leaves it will be because of wages. Directly or indirectly
I honestly don’t know how you keep doing this mate. You can’t believe the things you write every day.
I mean that isn't true at all and the whole idea was that he could play the goal-happy role Kyogo Furuhashi had at Celtic, but whatever. It's also wise to use a bit of context if you're gonna analyse his goalscoring ability in his first season with us and realising that the team wasn't setup for him to score goals, but to facilitate others scoring.
