Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Our two best players are our CBs , if fit I still keep Jan and Toby over them . Recruitment has been abysmal post Poch

Your weakness is the attack. Because you wasted incredible money for Solanke and Johnson.
Kudus is a top player. But you need also a top center forward and possibly a left winger. Plus a defensive midfielder.

Kudus + Sesko + Malick Fofana + Jashari. But do you have the money?

Fucking deluded mate

A club that has won 1 league cup in 25 years and no European trophy in 41 years and you downplay the Europa win in this manner?

It's absolutely true that the league position last season was out of order and Ange paid the price for it. However, this club, this group of players and staff actually won one of the major prizes on offer to us last season. There is no need to piss all over it like you are

No I didn’t mean it like that. What I mean is, are we going to dine out on that trophy as a means to pretend we are more ambitious than Woolwich are? The trophy was fantastic but it’s done. What’s next? Woolwich fighting for the PL and CL? We’ll be making up the numbers. Why? Because we don’t buy the best players available.

We’ve hired a new coach with an entirely new staff behind him, Frank plays a different system to the previous manager (or lack of system if we’re referring to Ange ball) and therefore I find it normal and acceptable that we are not going balls-to-the -wall in the transfer market.

How would Frank find the conviction to demand such a drastic change to the squad as 5 or 6 new players if he hasn’t had any time in training with the boys? It’s unreasonable for fans to expect that this summer with a new head coach.

2-3 quality additions this summer will be a good start for the Frank era.
That’s a fair argument. But it would be far stronger if we hadn’t 20 plus years of evidence of us being slow, ponderous and doing the bare minimum when there wasn’t all the reasons/excuses you’ve listed there.

Saying 'Big fucking deal' to us winning the Europa League is absolutely wild.

I'm 33, seen us be very fucking good in the league for a couple of seasons and compete enough in the Champions League to get to the final that's more than most other clubs in Europe can say, but winning the Europa League was by a million miles my favourite moment as a Spurs fan. Fuck I'd love us to win leagues more than anything but you can't belittle beating Man United to win a major European trophy.

Show me an Woolwich fan who'd take winning fuck all but competing for the last 5 years over winning the Europa League and I'll show you a liar.

Again not what I meant but I worded it badly. What I’m saying is, we can’t just walk around saying we won the Europa in 2025 as a deflection for the fact that we aren’t ambitious.

I don’t know why so many fans are getting so sensitive. It’s a fact Woolwich are a far better team than we are, and they are far more ambitious. They are already far stronger and now they are signing much better players than we are. If people want to delude themselves into being happy about that then fine but really it’s unacceptable, we shouldn’t have to watch them be more ambitious than us.

Kudus would be a really good signing hopefully, but it’s not enough. We need much more

If we can ship out Richarlison, Bissouma and Gil and replace them Vhalovic, Douglas Luiz and Kudus I’d say it’s a decent start to the window.

Would still want 2-3 more in though.

(There’s been no links to Vhalovic, but Juve want rid and he’d be decent as a squad player)
Have people seen Vlahovic play in the last year? Why do you think Juve want him gone? he's awful no where near the level of Richarlison genuinely.

It's been so quiet before all our signings since Lange arrived. I would like to say that they're is no smoal without a fire. But are we all sure Spurs are even trying to get Kudus. I'm not.

What you say is probably true for younger players with Lange . Likes of Danso, Tel was in media over days & weeks before closure.

This is currently a Ornstein story so for now on track - let’s wait & see this week

You’re not thinking this through. They pay an extra 500k per player on average and have many more players on the payroll than we do. That tells me their players that don’t even play have very high wages. In other words, they have lots of well paid bench warmers and we don’t. It means they should have significantly better depth than us.
Thought it through fine thanks.

What YOU haven't thought through is the premise here, in that many are stating we don't get the players because we don't pay the wages that Chelsea do. The fact that, on average, we pay just £500K per year per player less than Chelsea do. The fact that they have more players is irrelevant to the point being made. Depth of squad wasn't even brought up.

Compared to the majority of our attacking signings over the years Kudus actually had some skills and ability. He would be the best since we signed Son in 2015
I guess depends how you judge skills and ability. The most fundamental skill before the rest of it is seeing the game, having good football intelligence. Knowing when to dribble, seeing a pass, building chemistry with those around you. If you haven’t got that it’s pointless.

Think people are excited because he looks like he can dribble. The trouble is he doesn’t do it in a team frame work. His dribbling rarely leads to anything because generally it’s always one too much. He will normally dribble until he loses it or he thinks he can get a strike away. Think it was the West Ham Man Utd game at Old Trafford where it cemented home him as a player to me. He failed to put Bowen through on goal twice with simple passes and just lost the ball trying to take someone on pointlessly.

I know people think Frank is going to improve like they say with every player but that is wishful thinking, I don’t think players change that dramatically and for 60m you shouldn’t be really be having to try and change that players fundamentals
