In part undoubtedly,

In which case I would have said despite being quality in their individual right, so clearly am issue of not getting the balance/combinations right.
I know you didn't say that, but it's what Rebrov_Likes Rebrov_Likes is countering your comment with, your response to that seems to suggest that you don't agree.

I don't know for certain what your take on that is, but I'd say both you and he are correct, the midfield was average (at best) but the individual midfielders are much better than average.

It's all about tactics, coaching, and finding the right composition, all of which were severely lacking last season.

Apparently it was meant to be "confidential". Then what's the point of even having it if it is kept secret?
I won’t pretend to be an expert in footballing contract law, but there is a commercial reason for keeping a clause confidential.

If you genuinely want to keep the player and fend off any and every approach, you can add all sorts of conditions alongside the basic monetary requirement, so as to frustrate and delay the negotiation process.

It’s a contractual tactic to obfuscate.

Yeah exactly. A release clause that no one knows about is literally just the amount of money you’re willing to sell for.

No, a release clause is arguably the difference between what you might be prepared to pay and what you must pay as a minimum),if you are aware of the release clause.

I don't know how these things work but one must presume release clauses have some publicity, in which case it's a decision based on known detail.

Nobody pays more than a release clause, and to thise who cite Suarez, did he renegotiate a new contract and a bigger clause,? Can't be sure

The question is whether Gibbs-White would do the same. Doubtful I think..

Hmmmmmm.....

If a release clause is met you can talk to the player if not you have talk to the club first. On the issue of confidentiality the player and his agent knew about it so no prizes for guessing who let it be known.

Once MGW gets over the line what do we still need and how many exits do we expect?

Obv a 6 is the glaring gap…
Poss a Left back too

I’d say that’s it. Imo Richarlison will stay as back up ST

Son, Bissouma, Davies, Solomon, Gil will sold if we can find a buyer

Loans for Phillips, Yang, Scarlett Devine etc
davies has just signed a year deal, hes not being sold. son, biss, solomon and gil might fetch 70m

Surely not even Forest would want that? Not useful for anyone.

I hope we get him to sign with us then sort it, that way he can’t go anywhere else
You’d be surprised.

Some of their fans in their forum think this shows that they’re a big club who won’t be bullied.

Good distraction to not have to buy players either while still saving face with the fans after losing their big players.

Sure but If they acknowledge it’s a lost cause it’s just wasting the clubs time/resources and money on a lost cause just to look like they haven’t been fucked.. not sure it’s worth it
