Can't believe that, doesn't strike me as the type to waste food.

Thing is though, he’s made it clear he wants to leave, why drag it out? It just makes them look tin pot imoI feel that Forest will drag this out for so long that either we move on to other targets, another club comes in for him, or he is somehow persuaded into signing a new contract.
I feel like Forest will do everythign they can to stop this tbh.
Cheese wire underwear to the knackers?!

Daniel Phillip Levy lives for days like this!!!! I fully expect by the end of the week we actually end up paying less for him, he made a big mistake declaring war on the Don!!!!!!All of this from Forest seems an attempt to save face on the clause and bully Spurs into giving up more in terms of transfer fee or better payment terms.

Don’t think that is true , we didn’t want Bale , Modric or Kane to leave . I think we would have rightly been pissed off if Levy let them go easily . MGW is there best player or at least he is in my viewThing is though, he’s made it clear he wants to leave, why drag it out? It just makes them look tin pot imo
Yeah I'd agree. I think playing for lesser teams they've built their team around him and used him in the 10 but if you actually look at his style, he's more of a box to box midfielder. Can do it all really. He's nowhere near the same level but he plays like Steven Gerrard.all forest fans saying he cant shoot bla bla bla, to me he looks more equipped to play a little deeper anyway. he doesnt look like a true 10 to me, more of a very good midfielder whos involved in all 3rds.
None of us can know what is in his contract but can use the example here of Eze and the fact that palace were demanding the bulk, if not all, of his release clause up front. The devil is in the detail of the contract and if the contract doesn't stipulate how it has to be paid then the selling club can well use that ambiguity to get terms that they want.Surely, the terms of our offer that triggered the release clause already stipulated the payment terms?
I don’t think we need to give them any different terms to the ones in the offer that triggered the clause.
All of this from Forest seems an attempt to save face on the clause and bully Spurs into giving up more in terms of transfer fee or better payment terms. Their idea is that the longer this goes on, the more we will want the deal done and eventually cave in to give them more.
If Levy is the one running the negotiations, that’s a very bad idea. He will happily wait it out, even if it means missing out on the player. We saw long drawn out deals for Spence and Porro. If he feels that the small print is on his side, he doesn’t give a fuck what you want.
Here is the thing though, how can you have a secret release clause, surely if your interested in a player you would ask if they had a release clause, they couldn't say "we do but we can't tell you the terms its secret"Or we knew the exact amount they needed paid upfront to trigger the release clause and offered our payment terms around that.Which probably goes back to why they are unhappy as this would indicate we knew exactly what was involved to trigger the release clause.
Anyway who knows! I'm only throwing out theories!

That is what the Forest itk is stating and he knows more than me. I just find it strange that we triggered his release clause and had a medical booked if we didn't know the payment terms required. I'm guessing we did and what we offered is fine in whatever installments we put down. The issue is this actually helps Forest's case so I'm not sure which one I want to be true!None of us can know what is in his contract but can use the example here of Eze and the fact that palace were demanding the bulk, if not all, of his release clause up front. The devil is in the detail of the contract and if the contract doesn't stipulate how it has to be paid then the selling club can well use that ambiguity to get terms that they want.
There has already been transfers this summer where the buying club has paid more than the release clause as it allows them to including that lot down the road and Zubimendi. They paid higher than his clause so they could spread the payments out. Let's see how this plays out but unless the clause is very specific then just being willing to bid 60m doesn't end the negotiations, there are still steps after that to agree structure.
If I had a face like that I’d want to change it

Jokes aside, if there's any chance at all that we miss out and someone else buys him, Levy will probably demand 50% of anything above the mythical release clause.
Fuck sake folks.
None of you know anything, stop talking like you're all an authority on contracts, release clauses, PL rules, legalities etc.
Seriously, some of you are talking like a) you know the details of the clause, b) you know the offer Spurs made and c) you have the requisite knowledge to know how this plays out.
Most of you don't even know what cornflakes are made from.

You’re right, but in those situations there was never a release clause triggered, it was purely negotiation if I’m not mistaken? If we had a 80m release clause for Kane I’d more pissed off the club agreed to itDon’t think that is true , we didn’t want Bale , Modric or Kane to leave . I think we would have rightly been pissed off if Levy let them go easily . MGW is there best player or at least he is in my view
