Forest asked for more money. Levy laughed and said no. Spurs are convinced they've done nothing wrong. Forest have said you can't talk to MGW and are now breaking the terms of their own release clause. Levy has them where he wants him. The prem won't get involved.

I think there just trying everything they can to collapse the deal.
It could very well work too.

It’s all seemingly gotten extremely messy behind the scenes and something we may not want to push too far.

If Forest point blank refuse to engage with us there’s really no way the deal can happen I would think.

There’s history of clubs trying to be sneaky like this and the deal falling through too, think back to Van Dijk initially from Southampton to Liverpool and Olise to Chelsea.

This is not clear cut at all.

If we have done nothing wrong then how are Forest able to delay the transfer? Why doesn't MGW tell them to fuck off? Why don't we just wire them 60m and get MGW to sign a contract?

Clearly they retain some power here which suggests there has been some funny business on our side.

Yeah I'll be amazed if this one happens

Sounds like they tried to get more money out of us and we told them to do one, tells me that they don't have a leg to stand on...if we were doing Shady business we'd settle and pay them more but we've called their bluff here.

I wonder if his clause had a team in the champions League came in for him. As bad as it sounds he needs to say something like forest you have been amazing but it's an offer I can't turn down and with a heavy heart I'd like to leave.

They hold his registration for two more years. We would have to sue them for the registration. We need MGW to complain to the PFA and put in a transfer request.

Yeah this is what I’m confused about. If we’re so confident of no wrong doing what is even holding anything up? We’ve paid the release clause surely we just get him in and then worry about their complaints later if we’ve done nothing wrong.

Yeah from what we heard we offered to pay the release clause so it should be a formality from there. NF may then try to claim some damages after the fact but I don't see how they would be able to delay it unless we have the shittest lawyers in the PL.

If it has literally got to the point of them ignoring Levy's calls so that it drags on then it will be NF that is liable to pay damages.
