Absolutel nonsense.

He heeds to make us competitive, in the same way as Pochettino was able to, albeit with objectively better players and challengers who were not as good.

Then it's more likely that trophies follow. Being abject and winning a trophy is not progress or a sign of competence.

Based on our clubs recent history would agree. Our cups won with Graham, Ramos and Ange while Jol, Redknapp and Poch won nothing. It was Redknapp and Poch though that made us attractive to players. Without them we would never had been able to court elite managers like Jose and Conte even if it didn’t work out.

None of that makes any sense to me.

We just won a trophy and got CL. That gave us the money and appeal to attract top players if Levy would pay the wages.

We were a different club when Harry and Poch took us to top 4. The target isn't top 4 anymore. In the same way Harry broke our top 4 ceiling, Ange broke our trophy ceiling. Now we need to win trophies regularly like Poch got top 4 regularly.

Exactly.

Woolwich won 4 FA Cups in 7 years, but nobody took them seriously until they came 2nd in the league. That's the platform for their ability to make good signings now.

Winning the League or FA Cups, even regularly, won't make us anywhere near as attractive as Top 4.

I think the setup may have been a little different second half?
Despite not being very creative, the first half definitely has a solid structure with patterns about it. It may have been more of a personnel thing but I liked the look of it. Buildup from the back through the cm2 then into the attacking 3 was slick and consistent. Unfortunately our attacking lineup not so much.
If we had maddison at 10 first half and kudus in the right I think more people would have been satisfied.
Of course its only a friendly against league 1 but I think reading were further along in their pre season

Opta.

averaging most distance covered - Kulu (1st) son (11th)

Most sprints per 90 - Son (ranks 13th overall)

Most time spent walking - Romero (3rd overall)

None of our players feature in the top 20 longest time spent sprinting per 90 - which spells the myth that Spurs were sprinting way more that other teams.

We were up there with Bournemouth for most sprints who also had a load of injuries...

I personally really find him very nervous in his pressers, like that's a feeling from him that the job is too big for him and he's trying to say the right thing all the time.. But understandable it's his first big gig. Hope a few good competitive wins can ease his nerves soon.
Seems the same as he did at Brentford imo, I think this is just Frank. He ends his sentences with uptalk/upspeak. So if he says "do you know what I mean?", "mean" will end higher pitched, not neutrally. It's pretty common for people who aren't strong public speakers or who are lack confidence.

Do I give a shit? Absolutely not. I care about his ability to manage a football team. Not how he feels speaking to a room full of parasitic journalist scum who will jump on any opportunity to twist his words in a second language.
