I don't recall people saying that we were pretty happy the summer we didn't reinforce where it was followed by Top 4 an d unprecedented CL final.

Do we? They are having to replace a player that just lost his life. Worst case for us is we actually coach the players that had no coaching the last 2 seasons.



If spurs fans supported liverpool, they'd be going mental at the lack of VVD replacement and not signing a 'world class' striker, among many things.

That isn't on us, there's no contract between us and Forest, there's a contract between them and Gibbs-White.

If they're moaning about someone breaking the clause then they can't pin that on us.

I think we're getting sidetracked. I'm not saying 'we' broke the confidentiality clause or any other agreement. I'm saying that, if it's true the clause was an oddly specific number, and if it's true we bid exactly that number, then we revealed that either MWG or his agent broke confidentiality and that gave Forest grounds to reject the offer. And, by extension, if we knew the clause was confidential, it was a rookie error to offer that exact amount, since we should have anticipated the potential consequences.

The caveat to your original post and my replies is, of course, that none of us really knows, so it's all speculation.
 
That sounds like a line directly from the club more than the agent or MGW. Forest covering themselves to keep their hard man look in tact.



However, I hope his wife is in a good and safe state.
