Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

It's an utterly underwhelming transfer window so far from us.

Not entirely sure what I expected but nothing to excite at present, other than clear-throated, post-match interviews
The window is still open until September 1st... I would love all the deals to be done before pre-season training starts, but the reality is that this rarely happens nowadays. Getting Kudus done is a positive. Someone with bundles of pace and a direct style. Nothing underwhelming about that. If we do sign MGW and add a 6, even Palhinha then I think we are bang in contention for top 6 minimum. I still have some reservations about Frank but like every new manager he will be afforded time. The first 45 minutes against Burnley

Also, while I do appreciate a decent coiffure, I don't find this neccessary as a footballers skill. In fact just the opposite, I find footballers that are too worried about how their hair looks to be less likely to get stuck in as it were. Now ability in the air, though, is a great thing, but entirely different of course.
Then there's the exemption that justifies the rule. Sergio Ramos.

A man who 100% cared about his hair, but loves getting stuck in.

But Ramos is also the stereotype of Spanish machismo made flesh.

total mess?while we sit on our Arse other clubs are signing players. dont understand the Gibbs situation why does he not tell Forest he wants away and will not play for them anymore. The weak league allow this to go on and make a laughing stock..Who runs football a rich Greek or the football league.we need to move on quickly while we have the time.I thought Levy had changed but once again he scuppers progress.Liverpool make transfers with no hysterics

Feels like every summer we get fooled into thinking, things will be different.
Always the same. We'll first get into multiple links to various players. Quick signing of one youngster, probably cheaper ones. Then sign one expensive player deemed to be for starting XI. Get everyone excited thinking we finally do our business early.

Then somehow a deal will stall, and other transfers couldn't move, seemingly depending on this stalled deal to clear first. Things will start to move again towards the end of the window, we will suddenly sell some players, probably unexpectedly. Then we will sign just 1 or 2 players. Managers then come out saying they like a trimmed squad. And we ended up without a deep squad.

Fml.

You mean like when they went to sign Zubamendi and he said "no thanks"

The MGW situation is very similar to when they first tried to sign VVD, except VVD didn't have a release clause.

Not sure what people are expecting of the club here? Complain if we don't "back the manager" and sign "plan B" players, but are also complaining that the "plan A" player is taking too long when it's still July.

If only there were still over five weeks to the close of the transfer window.
While that is true, given the nature of the calendar and our CL involvement, once the season starts, there’s gonna be almost no chance for Frank to do any real coaching. It’ll be rest, recovery and a bit of prep for the opposition. It’s so important to get the finished squad together so he can work with the whole in preseason.

Sure but every time the excuse is valid. They get less valid each time when there’s always a valid excuse
