Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Tomorrow never comes though. In 12 months time Benrancur will be gone on a free, Son and Davies out of contract, Romero will have a year left, ditto Richarlison and its another big rebuild. I'd also doubt we'd have CL football so less to spend, potentially better players pissed off by no CL. Opportunites like this summer dont come around often and we could set ourselves up for a few years if we were more proactive

Tomorrow indeed never comes. It's jam tomorrow.

I remember having this exact conversation 10 years ago on Spurs forums, saying that if we didn't build around Kane, we'd ruin a once in a generation chance of actually doing something with a world class talisman who fell on our lap from the academy.

Because never would we be able to have a player of Kane's ilk come here unless he was from the academy.

And look what transpired. We never put the neccessary quality around him and we did fuck all. In fact, Levy got lucky because somehow Poch built a team around a group of players who all came good around the same time, along with Son. But every summer we were desperate for some real ambition to kick on, we didn't. And what happened? We came up short.

And trust me, I got shouted down for being a pessimist and all that shit, and I was right.

Never changes. And sorry to say, the one constant is Levy. What is the difference between Chelsea, Woolwich, Liverpool, City and us? It's fucking Levy. It's our owners.Liverpool have just won the league, spent 300 million and their best journalist Joyce has just said the spending will continue.

Levy needs to fucking go man. It won't ever truly change until he does. You can put all the Paratici's, Franks, Lange's, Baldini's, Conte's, Mourinhos around him, but until Levy is actually gone himself, we are stuck in purgatory.

In a years time, Romero will be gone. Son long gone. VDV will probably be drawing envious glances from Madrid if he stays fit and kicks on.

And we will still have gaps and round it goes.

Well AFC & LFC spent bugger all last season so you'd theirs to be comparatively higher this season......... Man C is same old same old (yet suprisingly low given their broader reputation). CFC is the usual bent mayhem boosted by the cash influx world club cup win.

As per TFM (euros) :

AFC:
Last season: 25.2m (n) / This season (so far): 134.8m > Avg: 80m (n)

LFC: Last season: -5m (n) / This season (so far): 150.3m (n) > Avg: 72.6m (n)

MC: Last season: 101.3m (n) / This season (so far): 112.7m (n) > Avg: 107m (n)

CFC: Last season: 42.9m (n) / This season (so far): 122.3m (n) > Avg: 82.6 (n) ***

(***That's fucking nuts when you look at all their ins and outs....... The (red) scum have a LOT to answer for!)

.............If anything all those 2 year averages look suprisingly low (even if you add on the numbers for pending deals for Gykores & Ekitike).

FWIW:

Spurs: Last season: 130m (n) / This season (so far): 127.1m (n) > Avg: 128.55 (n)

At this point if you’re NOT being paid it’s embarrassing.

That's the beauty part of selling a minority stake though, get some return on the investment but also retain control.
Could be an option, but I hope Levy is happy with his massive bonuses and would rather move to their end game by sell off to new owner. Then he can go retire in the Bahamas.

Then we pray the new owners aren't bigger cunts. But that's just me speculating like the NITK cunt that I am:contehandshead:

People look at that squad and generally see it as our strongest PL side ever and wonder how we didn't win anything

In fact, Levy got lucky because somehow Poch built a team around a group of players who all came good around the same time, along with Son

Wait - so we did have necessary quality around him and it was some form of coincidence and luck?

We didn't built a team that was good enough but did build a time that was good enough, which was lucky?

The relative speed at which clubs seem to identify and then conclude business compared to us feels like light and day.

Of course that's me being selective, and of course patience is a necessary, but I think most fans just want to see a real signing of intent to wet the palate.

However good Frank may be, he is not a magician, and we are emotional creatures, who act on thr stimulation of momentum.
