Don't know why Newcastle don't have Darwin in part ex. His goals to minutes ratio is actually pretty good regardless of how many chances he misses. I still think there's a top forward inside him somewhere. He just needs to play every week and an arm around him, and Howe would give him that.
They'd have finished 10th last year with Darwin instead of Isak. That might be generous.
This situation is such a catastrophe for them.
I don't mean they should replace him with Darwin. They would still need to sign a star striker. But I don't think they'll be able to get much better. Players are going to see Isak leaving and see it as a lack of ambition. As good a club as Newcastle are, they're not as good or as big as their fans like to think.
You can talk circles around it in any which way, but the bottom line is just that a striker who can't score is just a complete albatross who everyone should and does avoid. Nunez just completely sucks.
I agree that this is a huge crisis for the credibility of the Newcastle project
No doubt very tempting for him and his camp.
