Maybe the Frank effect will be worth a few positions as well.

If Ange really was as bad a coach as people say, then hopefully the squad was just massively underperforming in the league and we're flattering to deceive.

Until season starts we just don't know.

You mean wait for the bigger dogs to eat and then go for the scraps when they're finished!

In reality as it stands, the only difference between our team this year and the one we put out last year is Kudus and a 5 mil punt on Takai.

I'm not melting but it's hardly inspiring.

I hope Frank is also the difference for a few places as well.
No it's not inspiring but, it is expected from levy.
Too many people have been hung up about his win tbe league statement, when in reality he isn't going to provide the tools for a manager to do that.
As for Frank, I do believe the team will improve from the shit show of last year, it could not have got worse barring relegation.
I never expected anything to change in regard to our recruitment, he will be left well short like every other manager before him.
It does seem since the MGW deal collapsed that, everything else is on hold. It probably isn't the case but the last 3 weeks have gone very quiet.

We do typically like to leave a lot of our business to later on in the window.

Levy has always operated like this to ensure we've got the best platform for getting as much value as possible.

It's such small time thinking but he's not going to suddenly change, unfortunately.

This is half the problem. As the new season fast approaches teams don't want to lose there best player and have to replace them so late. I don't think u get good value either most of the time clubs want over compensating.

As soon as we knew frank was saying yes to the job there should of been a meeting where 3 or 4 big additions should have been identified for the team and then go sign them early and then use the rest of the summer to offload players frank decided he didn't want.

That's how the big clubs move. We will spend just as much a them but we will get half the quality for our money.

I think you've pretty much nailed it here, my friend.
I'd expect a couple of 'deals' late on as Levy looks for the value among the left overs once the serious clubs have concluded their business.

And he uses the deadline to drive the price down where he knows Clubs actively want to sell the player.

He enjoys the whole cat and mouse element to it as well, there's no doubt about it.

It's just so tiring knowing this is what's coming pretty much every window.

The problem is the later the window goes the less likely you are to get good players as clubs dont have time to reinvest. So you're left picking up the ones that clubs are desperate to bin and there are obviously good reasons they want to bin them. As ever the way we operate is not targeted its about the deal.

Starting to look like this summer’s window is even worse than last year. What an achievement
Given the circumstances of where we are i'd say its only one notch up from 2018. I know we've done a bit this summer compared to fuck all but at least in 2018 we had a good side that had just finished 3rd, even though it was starting to look tired. This lot produced our worst league finish in 48 years.

Well, the flipside is that you don't play anyone anywhere near as good as Champions League sides in the Champo, plus a romp over Hamilton Accies isn't necessarily a total waste of a teenager's time.

The blend of different levels is an intriguing opportunity.

It still just comes back to us having absolute trust Mikey is going to play though, IMO. Mason and perhaps Chris Davies at Birmingham can offer that to us in a way others can't.

The one thing we most want to avoid is him being an unused sub week after week by like October when we can't recall him.
The Scottish teams in the champions league get absolutely dominated most match days.

Celtic have averaged 4 losses per group stage (when they have qualified) over the last 2 seasons before it became an expanded league table, where they fared slightly better beating Leipzig and Slovan Bratislava.

Get Mikey to the Champo. To a club that will play him. He will be excellent in that league by the time match day 10-15 he will be developing at a good rate, fair sailing and all that.

I'm not sure sending him to WBA is the silver bullet. We don't know if Mason is any good as the head coach. Brum probably more a cert as they have money and we know Davies is good to go.

Regardless, looking forward to the highlight reels!

He does seem to enjoy waiting around for a price drop.
Even if results are not great for a few weeks, as long as he gets his man at his price is what matters most, winning the transfer window.
