Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

70+ mil on Tel & Odobert...130 mil if you add Richarlison...150 odd if we're counting the Spanish Beattle.

Let that sink in.

Quantity over quality. Nobody does it like Levy.

Ps: Brennan isn't blameless, but I'm fine with his pricetag considering he's scored circa 25 goals for us. Ditto Kulusevski.
I don’t want it to sink in. I’m better trying to keep that stark reality at a healthy distance

solanke is so much more than just a goal scorer while Brennan's best asset is his goals.

So why would you expect Solanke to outscore Johnson? He might but it shouldn't be an expectation..Johnson could easily hit 20+ goals next season!

Did Liverpool act like this every pre season around Firmino needing to outscore Salah and Mane? If you are only judging Solanke on goals then you must think Johnson is brilliant?
Sorry,

Always the way. Why spend £100m on a world-class, cornerstone player, when you can buy 3 average ones?!

We should be paying whatever it takes to get Wharton, but we'll end up with Palinha, good player, but over 30 now, maybe has 2/3 good years on him based on what he does. So he'll inevitably end up as dead wood, while City or Liverpool sign Wharton next year as their cornerstone player for the next decade.

If Son does leave and our front 3 consists of Tel, Dom and Kudus, we're fucked.

There are posts and posters in this thread hoping we get relegated and getting agrees from the predictables . That to do with transfer finances has what?
Anyway, I am going to bed.
Had a very pleasant day down the boozer watching the lionesses. In the olden days I would still be there.

Liverpool figured this early doors

If we’d have bought Poch 2 world class players for 150m wed probably have won titles

It’s the waste … multiple purchases of dross for 30m. Bang average that we can never shift

basically I agree with you

he'll still be here

I feel like I shouldn’t fall for this line anymore. I mean really, I watched some video that someone posted here last year going into some detail about how amazing this was going to be for Spurs and how everyone else was screwed. We are going to be able to take advantage of this and do all this business. And here we are, same as always.

Then, you hear “well, with Champions League, players can’t wait to play for you”, and it just hasn’t been the case. It wasn’t that way when we had the run of CL appearances, and it’s not that way now.

Instead, it seems to come down to ambition by our front office and scouts. Maybe we have all these amazing advantages, and maybe that’s all legitimate. But if they won’t bring them to bear, then it hardly matters.

Nah, we had Son in well before we started looking at Berahino. I think that ordeal was 2017-18 and Son came in 2015. I could be wrong on the years, because I’m too lazy to look it up.
Your wrong. Below is a link to a screenshot of Ornstein saying we were ending interest in Berahinho and starting talks with Son.

I've also put a link to Sky Sports saying our bid was rejected on 25.08.15. We signed Son on 28.08.15.

In 17/18, Berahinho had been at Stoke a year after signing him for 1/2 the amount of our rejected bid in 2015.

So now we're gonna spend unnecessary time messing around with this keeper situation. There goes another 2 weeks of the transfer window and more transfer money spent not on the starting 11.

Goalkeeper is one of the most important positions on the pitch. Show me a team that has won anything without a world class keeper?

Vicario is great at shot stopping and reflex saves - but really struggles in physical situations. Historically, Frank has been a defensive coach, with much of Brentford's games played in the defensive 3rd, without possession of the ball. Having a keeper that is unable to claim the ball from crosses would be suicidal.
