So Sonny might be off to LA. I wonder if he could arrange, as part of the deal, that Solanke, Maddison, Johnson, Benny and Bissouma could join him?
Wishful thinking I know, but our front line is bang average and we should have identified this before the season was over and had plans in place to refresh/renew them. Maddison is a 7/10 every 6 games and Benny is not the same player since his injury.
We want (apparently) to win The EPL and The CL. Not in a million years! We will be lucky to qualify for Europe with players of this calibre starting week in, week out.
Close to 130-50m I'd say to off-load this 6. I'm pretty sure there might be another 100m lying around to add to this, allowing us to go and freshen up the whole squad with....

Cute they think us going for MGW was anything but opportunistic rather than planned.
I might be clutching at straws, but, if we're comparing with the other big clubs in this window, it could be our change of head coach and other aspects of football administration. All seems to be for the better, but things will be bedding in.
I guess Frank and his coaching team are working with Lange to assess our squad and the up-and-coming young'uns before proceeding. Decisions must be made about Bissouma and Bentancur in particular, given their contract situation (while Son is rightly given slack), and Frank will presumably be central to this.
Then there's the small group of young players who might go out on loan, stay with the U21s, or maybe go into the U21 list of the PL squad, or the B List of the CL squad. Has Frank finished his assessment yet? It's a guess, but I'd assume he needs to see all players closer to full match fitness in the East Asian tour games.
There's also the bad luck of MGW, with £60m committed, and then not. Suddenly, with more money available, Frank has to work with Lange to look at the market anew.
The other big clubs, who have not changed manager, will have had a transfer strategy worked out some way in advance.

Jackson is one of the worst decision makers and finishers I’ve seen on a football pitch.
Robinson is a decent LB, but pretty limited technically. £50m would be an insane overpay.
Watkins is close to 30 and has always relied on his pace, again horrible use of funds.
Palhinha, limited footballer, but would understand on loan to help us win more duels.
Elliot is a massive bellend who’s got huge question marks on his off the pitch actions. He is a talented player though.

There is zero reason for him to leave. RM wanting to sell is irrelevant.

We are rich, in the CL, playing in one of the best stadiums in the world, in one of the best cities in the world, in arguably the best league in the world. We have just won the Europa League. Our fan base is fucking massive. We are the world-famous Tottenham Hotspur. We should be pushing on instead of standing still.
We have been conditioned into thinking second-tier players are our level and that we can't compete with the current top four.
Edit: I realise that signing Madrid players is unlikely, but the point still stands
