Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

There is no doubt that so far this summer window our transfer business has been slow amd underwhelming compared to the likes of Liverpool and the Chavs but i dont think there is any need to push the panic button just yet.

We have a new manager through the door in Thomas Frank someone who is a highly accomplished and respected tactician in the game.

He will undoubtedly want to bring new signings in as quick as possible to work with them before the season kicks off but he also needs and wants to assess the squad he has inherited to make the best decisions for the club going forward

All of the scouting and analytical team behind the scenes will be drawing up lists of potential new signings who will fit into Frank's style

MGW would've added something to the squad we have but he's decided to stay at Forrest so we move on.

There is no point making signings for the sake of it they have to be right and sometimes that takes time

For one of the first times ever i think Levy will spend big this summer we just have to watch this space to see who it is We go in for ( we like many clubs havent really been linked with anyone so i get transfer news is quite frustrating even if 98% of the time its bullshit)
How's the weather in imagination land, this time of year?

Signings like Klinsmann and Van Der Vaart elevated Spurs, and right now making a signing like that would be massive for any team but definitely for us.

These are romantic nostalgia "member-berries" of signings. Burned bright for fleeting moments.

Proper, epoch defining signings are Modric, Carrick, Alderweireld, Eriksen, Son and the punts on Bale and Kane.

Sandro and Dembele would also count but for their injury history.

I have absolutely zero doubts that Rodrygo laughed out loud when we got in touch. Absolutely zero doubts.

Just imagine the clown cartel of Levy, Lange and Vinai trying to sell the current version of Spurs, in the current state we’re in, with Thomas Frank as manager, to a player of Rodrygo’s calibre.

Its just beyond laughable.

And it’s sad, because make no mistake, we SHOULD be able to attract a player like Rodrygo. The fact we aren’t lays squarely at the door of Daniel Levy, ENIC, and the utterly incompetent way the club is run.
The shame is, MGW IS well within our grasp, he's absolutely the level we should and could be buying....

But that's not allowed either apparently!

We've wasted so much money on poor/average players over the past few years. 120m on two very ordinary strikers that we couldn't sell for half that much. Really poor scouting department. Just pay a little bit extra and you could get elite players but we pay high prices for mid tier players after their only good season and hope to get lucky.
Just scout better. Solanke prime example came at end of window when there were no links or anyone else interested. Last min dot com we roll up and stump up over £60M for a 27 yr old with one decent season. Surely out scouting team could have identified another striker somewhere in the world who is better.

Solanke was in talks with Waste Spam in May 24. They could not meet his wage demands
