As a club to have in the bag that's different from our other players and offers Frank a way to have a very clear, experienced, specific sort of player as he implements his ideas, while also adding depth for our CL gauntlet all makes really good sense to me.

It's the paying a big fee for a 30 year old part that I can't wrap my head around.

If he’s been identified by Frank as a key cog in our CL campaign to come I’m totally ok with it. And honestly though most won’t like to hear it getting a real CDM in is the one piece that completes our squad- that way Gray can be backup RB and Spence can play LB and a bit of RB as fitness permits.

If this is Franks choice I think it’s good for him to insist on it now, and leave Levy to more speculative and less sorely needed positions/shuffle for the end of the window.

You said it was because of Ange that we were crap. He finished 5th then won a trophy and you said we'd go better with a proper manager. Now you have your manager and you start blaming the crappy squad we have.

He scraped 5th with no Europe during a weak season for many top 6 teams. Which was pretty good, although we progressively got shitter the longer the season went on after riding a honeymoon wave, and ended up losing every single game at the end of the season.

We then finished 17th, one place above relegation, and won a trophy courtesy of the easiest EL run history has seen aside from Jose’s United run.

Our squad is rubbish, Frank is decent. So we might finish 7th/8th.

Fair enough, we are not that far apart. I have us around 5th/6th. One or two good signings and we can definitely push higher.
 
I wonder if anyone will pull Daniel’s pants down today and make him look a fool , or can he redeem himself with a couple of quality signings?
For what it’s worth , my view is I hope his mum always makes him wear clean underwear in case he gets run over .
 
At this point the only transfer we should we working on is for the sale of the club.

Everyone else finds ways to help them to be able to spend more and get as good of a team on the pitch as possible whereas our owners treat football like they are buying and selling shares, just badly.
Its undeniable that the sole aim of the owners it to fatten the turkey as much as possible whilst just about treading the line with fans. And now they realise they can get growth even with the team being mediocre its even better for them.

It will never work with these guys. They and the fans are far to incompatible for it too. Frank will be sacked before we know it through no fault of his own.

The sad thing is, the only way the fans can win and get there was is through self sabotage. We quite literally have to try and collapse our own football club to stand any chance, probably getting relegated aswell.

Another CM who can’t pass definitely isn’t a key cog that completes our squad.

If we decided MGW was the key cog to spend 60m on, we couldn’t be going in a much different direction with Paulinha.

So, everything Ange and this squad did right in 2 seasons was luck but Frank is good so he won’t be able have as much luck.

Everything you say is true in my opinion . However I am starting to feel sorry for the Levy Defence Force . They are clearly overwhelmed right now as Levy yet again seems to be doing the manager’s legs before he even has his initials on his new track suit .

So I thought I would help them out and assist with the workload . I guess I’m just a terrific human being with a heart of gold.

Frank will never have us as diabolically bad as 17th and Ange would never finish 5th this season either with the strength of the teams now and being in the CL.

But yes, a lot of what Ange achieved was circumstance. Frank could win a trophy too with a nice FA cup draw if we end up having no th it to fight for in the league. Palace won it while being 12th.

Having no European football definitely helped that 5th place finish.

Based on our activity this summer, Frank is going to end up sacking the CL off. Hes just given a press conference saying we have deep attacking options and he likes the squad… so any hopes I had of major surgery to our senior CMs seems pretty optimistic now.

If we don’t shift Bissouma and Bentancur out, with 2 high level, senior replacements coming in, there’s no way we finish in the top 5 and have a deep run in Europe and the cups

They are Pro's, Ed

They've honed their craft over several years of piss take transfer windows and general incompetence

Levy may skimp on the playing side of the operation but he pays top whack for the PR parasites

Rumour has it Airfixx is on 2 bags of quavers a week now with his most recent contract extension and it's expected that Shady's next contract will break the current barrier and include a stale mars bar

That's where all the money is going , that and hotels of course

No wonder we haven't got a pot to piss in transfer wise
