Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Having a look at the Athletic transfer round up and either nothing is happening or they don’t have a clue, let’s hope it is the latter. If you look through it, it is just regurgitated rumours and they’ve no idea what’s going on.

What positions/players are they still looking at?

After the collapse of the proposed move for Gibbs-White, do Spurs go for another creative midfielder or focus on other positions?

They have been thinking about adding to the No 6 position, where Spurs have struggled in recent years. Christian Norgaard, so important to Frank’s Brentford team, has already gone to Woolwich. Tottenham are considering a move for Joao Palhinha, the former Fulham midfielder who is now at Bayern Munich. He is available for a move this summer, but Spurs’ would prefer a loan rather than a permanent deal.

Then there is the left side of defence, which has needed reinforcements for some time. Kyle Walker-Peters has signed for West Ham United. There have been reports in Spain linking Spurs with Real Madrid’s Rodrygo, but that is not a position that Tottenham are focusing on.

Which players could be leaving?

Son is still the highest-profile potential departure, and it remains to be seen what will happen with him when the Spurs squad returns from their Asia tour in August.

Cristian Romero, who has been linked with a move to Atletico Madrid, now looks likelier to stay, with Atletico turning their attentions elsewhere. Some senior players could plausibly leave this summer, depending on the market for them, such as Richarlison or Yves Bissouma.

And then there are the youngsters who have been allowed to miss the tour while they pursue potential loan moves this summer: Mikey Moore, Alfie Devine and Dane Scarlett. Do not be surprised if they leave.

Frank will never have us as diabolically bad as 17th and Ange would never finish 5th this season either with the strength of the teams now and being in the CL.

But yes, a lot of what Ange achieved was circumstance. Frank could win a trophy too with a nice FA cup draw if we end up having no th it to fight for in the league. Palace won it while being 12th.

I suspect had we finished twelfth last season and won the Europa league then Ange would have kept his job. Both would have been entirely possible. We didn’t need to bomb as bad as we did in the league to win in Europe. Both were entirely of the manager’s making werent they.

Wow...
This is shaking up to be the biggest act of neglect and dereliction of duty by the ownership in their entire 25 yeays. ANY ownership
It's worse than 2018 as it stands when we signed nobody. We was a top 4 team back then.....
...but we've just staved off relegation and lost more games in a season than ever before!

It's wild to think about. Finished 17th in the league, still found away to get the Champions league money. But still penny pinching. Doing nothing in the transfer market and just watching literally every team getting stronger that the club want to be competing with. Its literally a joke how this window has gone. Waited weeks to sack Ange. Waited weeks to let Frank get in. Then wasted weeks on MGW. All the while doing no further business. We have weaknesses all over the pitch that are just going to be ignored and we will just cross our fingers in hope it works out?
And some wonder why we are THE joke club by excellence (or lack thereof).

Couldn't be more incompetent if they tried.

you say about it being 2025 etc, aint this guy a heroin smuggler? MGW is probably shit scared of him, that was evident enough in the strange video they done with him lurking over him. again, that hardly screamed MGW is 'delighted' to have signed did it, he looked on edge.

if its true that he was booked in for a medical, that must mean he had agreed to joined, couple that in with the fact that apparently forest were trying to get him to sign a new deal for 12 months previous...then all of a sudden, its come out this was some secret release clause which then means he or his agent have broken the terms....then he signs a new deal while looking like hes been taken hostage....yea thats hardly him turning down spurs imo.

the whole thing was very strange and will no doubt come out in time, but all the evidence points to the fat cunt forcing this to happen.
Can't we just put this story to bed? He's not coming here, move on.

Penny pinching? - Spent 140m this window, on top of the 500m spent the last 2 seasons.

Ange was sacked the day he came back from holiday. It wasn't 'waiting weeks'.

Spurs don't have weakness all over the pitch. Lack of full back options, but everywhere else there is good depth.

Spurs already have far too many foreign players, and can only sign english - which makes options very limited.

Personally - I still think we steal Eze at the final moment with a huge offer to gazump Woolwich. Clearly Spurs need to wait for them to make the first move and timing will be key.
We do, we do!!

Ask yourself this question: How many in our starting 11 would get into a PL-title winning team???
