Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

So fucking predictable.

:roseunsure:

Keep buying shit and then wonder why we can never sell anybody....

Yeah, it would be annoying if every other PL club didn’t do the same.
I don't really see that as a reason to shrug it off though, if you acknowledge it as less than ideal, which tbf some probably don't see it as such a big issue, then everyone else doing it would present an opportunity to not do it and gain an advantage over them.

There are other factors that don't necessarily apply to all the other clubs, for example it seems fairly unique to us that all other activity must cease whilst the club jets off on a jolly. I'm sure I've seen other clubs conclude transfers and fly players out to their tours.

The opportunity to play Racing Club for an admittedly very minor trophy, is also something that none of these other clubs are passing up by filling their schedule with these tours.

Fly off abroad to face mediocre South American side for a trophy?

:levysad:

Fly off abroad to wheel out Sonny for a last chance money spinning photo op before we flog him to the highest bidder?

:levywhoa:

Bottom line is, the reason we're doing it is financial, and right now that grates quite a bit considering the shambles that was last season, and the shambles that has been our transfer business so far this summer, the absolute focus of the club should be on footballing matters.

Football just never seems to be the priority for the people in charge of this Football Club, and that is annoying.

Oh no, he wasn't right on a transfer that was utterly utterly bizarre.

And no, you couldn't. You didn't have a clue, like everyone else here.

Ornstein gets things right far more than he gets things wrong (unlike you) and he doesn't guess (also unlike you).

Stop chatting shite you absolute fannypad. I agree that 99.99% of 'itk' are bullshit merchants (like you), but Ornstein is one of the very few good ones.

Got it? Good! Now deflate your ego before I deflate it for you, pops.

A transfer that was reportedly bizarre according to the people who jumped the gun and reported it as “done” prematurely??

Ok cool

Or it was a failed transfer and the player and his agent used the interest to get a ridiculous pay rise and signed an extension.

Occams Razor is that it was very simple and both Levy and Marinakis got played off against each other whilst MGW and his agent got paid.

I think the fact we can't get rid of players is because the shit ones can't get a move to another premier League club and who would want to with the wages they are on and the stadium and training facilities we have. Only a step down for them and basically finished in the premier. A select few would only leave us to go to bigger things

Oh stop arguing an inarguable argument.

Be quiet.

Ornstein says shut the fuck up you absolute belter.

Good point this, we could have added a further legitimate trophy and got a feel good factor and heaped more pressure on Sharteta and the scum.

What? Mikey Moore, Alfie Devine and Dane Scarlett stayed behind to work on possible loan deals and all the other cunts who are supposed to work on transfers are where?

Blimey
It's an odd decision isn't it?

Personally, I wouldn't have thought Mikey, Alfie, and Dane had the kind of clout and connections to covince players like Palinha, and Rodrygo to come to Spurs on loan, let alone be qualified to draw up contracts etc.

I guess we'll just have to trust that Levy knows what he's doing.

I've not really watched him to be honest. But knowing how we are desperate for home grown players and addicted to buying players under 22, it makes sense.

A couple of our young players have gone to City, so we may have a workable relationship with them.
We aren't desperate for HG players at all, we have Davies, Spence, Gray, Maddison, Johnson, Solanke, that all satisfy that criteria.

What we need is Club Trained players, and the only way we can rectify that is just be patient until Gray, Bergval, Vuskovic qualify and so do not need to be listed in the 17 to be able to play in Europe, improve our academy output to the first team, or re-sign former academy players who spent 3 years here. The 3 standouts for that final option are KWP, Edwards, or Cirkin, which kind of tells you that it's not really viable.

Hackney does not solve any problems, and is too old to ever be CT.

Looking forward to bidding £60m for him in a year or two
You mean monitoring him for 3 seasons and then waving bye as he signs for a serious team?

Strange how some release clauses are public knowledge whilst Mr Greek reckons they are all secrets"
My guess is there was no breach by us, the agent or MGW at all. The Greek Suge Knight just needed to buy a few days to send the boys round to MGW's family home to warn them of the repercussions of him leaving.

Sleeve advertising for just the tour….Jesus wept.
Jesus didn't weep. He's been dead for 2,025 years.
Levy on the other hand probably had a cry-wank with fresh £50 notes to wipe up.
