As long as we're unduly connecting sensitive geopolitical issues to this player, did the dispute with Shakhtar Donetsk regarding his "free" transfer ever get resolved?

Shalhtar went to Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) over FIFA's rulings, I think before Spurs ever signed Solomon - I posted all the info from CAS probably 18 months ago. CAS did not award Shakhtar a fee or gave them any legal right to a fee : likewise Shakhtar has threatened to sue FIFA for damages (media reported £43m claim against FIFA but that's gone nowhere.

When Spurs signed Solomon he had been on loan at Fulham and had 6 months left on his Shakhtar contract - but FIFA had already ruled that Solomon was entitled to a free transfer - but with 6 months left on contract he'd have been entitled to negotiate with Spurs and other clubs a free transfer 6 months later, so even if FIFA's original ruling of a free transfer on leaving Fulham was over turned, any transfer fee would be tiny.

So in short, Shakhtar have no legal right to demand any compensation from Spurs.

I doubt if we will get a transfer fee of more than say £15m/£20m for Solomon, Spurs might or might not choose to offer a 'sympathy' amount to Shakhtar of say £5m which would be more than they would have got with 6 months left on his contract after the Fulham loan, but whether Shakhtar would accept is another question.

In reality the issue is little different to if Solomon had fully run his contract down where no fee would have been payable to Shakhtar.

What Solomon believes politically or ideologically is up to him. Being a Zionist is not a crime and nor does it by default condone killing innocent people and this stupid overreaction must stop (the issue in that region is far deeper than what the liberal idiots are screaming about, noone is innocent).

The manager has a good look at him and if he decides that he is a useful option off the bench or a squad option , that is all that matters. Not his social posts or comments on an issue that is personal for him.

I'd be more than happy just to terminate the contract and let it be done with now. He's blatantly not going to play for the club and I can't see a premier League club part any money for him. It's all personal beliefs and upbringing etc but I think there's some things in history you need to be on the right side of.

And that's partly why the world is fucked.

Manor Solomon is back on the pitch. He has trained with the Spurs squad. But the winger is yet to regain full fitness and will miss this Premier League game.

Forget the politics shite, he’s just not that good.

If he was, we’d have had more offers to take him. Marseille don’t give a fuck who they sign if they think the player is good.

He’s never had a game for us where he played well, I have no idea why people rate him.

A myopic ( probably uniformed)) .view.
You are basically saying because he is Jewish and supports Jewish people having their own country Christians and Muslims both have over 50. He is a bad person and should not be allowed in the PL.

He is not responsible for his government any more than we sre for ours

His ( non inflammatory) post was made soon after Oct7th- he has not made any political ones for a long time
