Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Watch the interview, as annoyed as I am with the transfer window, I have zero issues with what he actually said around this quote.

Levy absolutely doesn’t get as much credit as he could for the stadium and training facilities.

But should he get that credit? He will get his credit when he sells his massively inflated stake in the club. He’s been successful with it and will have set his family’s future for generations as a result
He gets his credit. I haven't heard one person say they Hate the stadium or that he hasn't done well financially. We all know that. I have huge issues that he is so smug about his success financially, yet he says nothing and doesn't believe he has been disastrous at running a Football Club. Football Club being the operative words.

What people Hate is his arrogance in completely ignoring football (I don't count the Mickey Mouse Europa) because he is looking to get acknowledgment for financial success.

€60m Euros we have but £60m it’s not clear. Ndombele was close but the point stands, we’re never doing what United are about to do with Sesko, Cunha and Mbeumo in one summer because we don’t have the same drive to win

Oh yeah, like their previous brilliant attacking lineup of Sancho-Hjojlund-Antony that they paid 260 million for combined, right ?
Really unlucky that after this super drive to win they lost the same drive to win Europa League and lost the final to us.

P.S Thanks for conclusively proving that you are only about big numbers, flashy toys and dopamine hits only. That you just want to see hundreds of millions being shipped out and not caring at all about actual football and players quality. If you would you could have found so many better examples than ManU current spree.

Yeah … that one game a week gave them the edge plus Wembley

Still hurts

We played at WHL in 2016/17.

And our form at Wembley when we did move was actually excellent albeit not as good as 2016/17 when we were undefeated.

The reason we lost that title was no other fucker put up a fight against Chelscum. Wasn't until we did them at WHL that anyone even drew blood against them. Fuckers

I don't really care when we bring players in, although obviously the earlier you move the more likely you'll get your desired targets and the more time they have to work with the manager.

I will judge the window on whether we have significantly improved a squad that finished 17th, which is now taking the huge step up to CL football. So far, we have arguably improved it with Kudus and Palhinha, but we have also lost our most creative player to injury and our captain is leaving.

We also play in another cup final, and I don't feel confident we can compete with probably the best team in Europe.

There's still time, of course, but Lange needs to get a move on if we want to compete in 4 competitions this year.

People really do like to bend the truth when it comes to loans.

EITHER
Danso and Tels fees get added to last seasons spend.
Which, if you apply that logic you have to push Bergvall into the 23/24 season.
That means last season we "bought"
Gray - £40m
Solanke - £65m
Odobert - £25m
Yang - Undisclosed
Kinksy - £12.5m
Tel - £35m
Danso - £25m
Total - £202.5m

The only sales we made were Rodon, Royal, Skipp and GLC for a grand total of £51.2m and a net Spend last season of £151.3m

Or,
We didn't sign Tel and Danso last season and we currently have a net spend right now for 25/26 of
Tel £35m
Danso £25m
Kudus £60m
-£20m for Son
£90m

It's one or the other. We didn't just "not" sign those players.

I’m about intent and conviction

I’m over the moon they’re transfers have flopped but with the intent and conviction they have shown this summer, I’m worried it’s only a matter of time.

Hojbjerg money should be in there somewhere.

Strengthening from last season will largely come from Romero, VDV, Udogie, Bentancur, Richarlison, Odobert, Solanke actually being fit to play.

The dilemma is that we have signed all these players - but none of them can stay fit enough to contribute.

Of course, the season hasn't even started, and Spurs are without Dragusin, Kulu, Madisson. Kudus is a quality addition but urgently require a creative spark in the final 3rd. I'm also not convinced that Solanke, Tel or Richarlison will ever be 20+ goal a season strikers.
And what happens if like last season we still get loads of injured players, Maddision is already out for at least the rest of the year , Solanke and Udogie fuck knows whats going on with them, Richie will be injured after a few games as always.

Something is fundamentally wrong with the way our players have been dropping like flies the last few seasons, Big Ange got the blame for it with his training methods however if the same happens this season then who are we blaming?

Genuinely have no idea how someone with that view can live whilst being a football fan, and that's not me calling you 'not a fan' I just can't comprehend that mindset. *About the Europa League not Levy*

I was close to giving you an agree, then I read this! Europa League is not fucking Mickey mouse!

I personally think we are going to struggle this season
Think our squad is lop sided, injury prone and we don’t seem to be addressing the situation
Eventually it catches up with you
Probably on my own, but currently that is my opinion
Sorry
I dont think you are on your own and your assessment is right. The squad is well and truly lop sided due to no long term plan, constantly changing coach and having to build a squad for the incumbent coach who will get 2 years max. This is all on one man and one man only. I think this caught up with us last season but failing to address it means we will most certainly struggle again this season. But what defines a struggle? Some on here seem quite content with a 9th/10th/11th type finish. I see that as underachieving and more or less a struggle.

Okay, personally speaking, I am not worried about them.
Mbeumo - he is real effing menace and I would have really liked Frank to take him with him to us. Sharp, explosive, direct.
Cunha - I don't know about him. He has something about him, but something in him does not sit well with me, I do believe he is overrated and will not live up to expectations.
Sesko- what?!? Sesko? Quite literally what the fuck has he done ? :D Like seriously, I get that he is fairly young. But his best season is 14 goals. In BUNDESLIGA ?!? Zero progress from 23/24 to 24/25 season too. After likes of Nkunku and Werner and lot other much more established strikers from Bundesliga flopping? He is never more than 40 mil player (and even with that they pay for potential of becoming something, not what he is now). ManU will pay 80 for him. Please much more of those to complete wastes of their resources.

Daniel Levy has made a good living being THFC chairman.
Nothing more. Nothing less.

Your opening paragraph literally says strengthening from last season will have nothing to do with Levy

Yes I am sure you will argue he bought them in the first place , in which case I counter he has bought a number of injury prone players and in 25 years has not built a competent medical dept
