Just wondering—why aren’t we considering Mikkel Damsgaard as a possible signing for our No. 10?
He’s not the most obvious choice, but he quietly put up 11 goal contributions (3 goals, 8 assists) across all competitions last season. His 0.34 G+A per 90 minutes puts him in the top 25% of Premier League midfielders, and his expected assists (xA) per 90 of 0.31 ranks him in the top 5% league-wide. That kind of creative output could be valuable, especially in a flexible tactical setup.
He’s also familiar with both Thomas Frank and Justin Cochrane, which could help with integration. And he’s shown he can play across multiple attacking roles—left wing, central attacking midfield, even deeper if needed.
As for cost, Brentford are reportedly open to offers in the €40–50 million range. That’s a significant fee, but not outrageous given his age (25), versatility, and Premier League experience.
Would love to hear others’ thoughts. Is he worth the investment? Or are there better options out there for that role?
