This is such an odd post. In a statement where you recognise quality additions are a facet of success, you then critique people for being frustrated at what we’ve done this window thus far in comparison to our competitors.
Not one person here is saying that the ONLY contributor of success are quality signings, but seeing as it’s:-
A) the summer where no games, players or tactics can be analysed and discussed
B) a time when the transfer window is open
C) the fucking transfer window thread…
What do you expect people to talk about? No one is complementing Utd because they love them as a club. What they see is someone who has thus far done some objectively good business (Cunha and Mbeumo are excellent signings, Sesko has question marks but is highly regarded).
You would hope and expect some obvious organic growth from our team, both in terms of player development and tactically, but we are a long long way behind where we want to be and most here don’t think that organic growth is going to bridge that gap.
We need more and there’s still time to do more, but venting at fans who’s team finished 17th last season and a cumulative 83 points behind their biggest rivals over the last 3 years is a very odd take.
There’s time to do more, but right now what we’ve done and where we sit doesn’t even begin to bridge the massive gap we have to where we need to be.
Then there’s zero chance we’ll be getting him.
Monaco played 442 or 352 a lot this season so there’s been no room for a classic 10. He has played on the right.
In the previous season he played through the middle a lot more.
He was a second striker / 10 as a youth player.

Because Ange's system required a striker that constantly pressed and harassed the opposition. Kane at 30 was not that. I'm not an Ange fan, but we didn't lack goals in his first season.
