Ex-Spurs Player Heung-Min Son (손흥민)

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Farewell you absolute legend. It has been a pleasure.

Probably the most important player of ours for the last decade. Even more so than Harry in a way.

Might be strange to say, but I definitely think Spurs is more ingrained emotionally in Sonny than it was for Harry.

So proud to have this wonderful human being playing for us for 10 long years with some of the most beautiful achievements he won, while ALL being super appreciative of us fans, the club and players past and present supporting him in winning them. Really touched my heart 🙇🏻‍♂️

Those two posts had me blubbering. And that's what it's all about really.

I've spent the last couple of weeks moaning about Levy and the lack of transfers. We all have. Same as every summer. But I'll be eternally grateful that I got to enjoy seeing Son in a Spurs shirt for a decade, beautifully capped off with him lifting the EL trophy.

The memories of him and that night are what makes all of this worth it. We'll always have plenty to moan about, and that's absolutely fine. Because we care. But we're so lucky to have had ten years of witnessing what many of us will describe as their favourite ever player.

There will never be another Sonny 🥲

We're a funny old bunch at The Lane. As with all clubs we desire success, to win trophies and to be regarded as an elite team. But we are a very sentimental fanbase, an in addition we value quality of character and personality highly, both in the players and management. To Spurs fans, a player's disposition towards his fellow professionals and the supporters counts almost as much as his ability on the pitch. Fortunately in Sonny, we are able to love him for being such an incredibly decent human, his unquestionable attachment to THFC whilst also lauding his legendary skill and performances. I doubt that we will ever see the like of him again in professional football, never mind N17.

Son's just a much more emotional, sentimental person than Harry.

I love that Sonny is getting his roses as a solo act, he deserves it, and Bilbao was something special that belongs to him, but I still maintain that in 2030, 2040 what have you, Kane and Son will be remembered as the all-time great duo they were for so long.

Kane is Spurs to his bones and always will be. Right now is the furthest he's ever going to be from the club emotionally and psychologically, our bond will return in due course, hopefully before the end of his career but certainly after.

Great player who loved playing for us … let’s face it, that’s what we really want .

Definitely feels like the end of an era - amazing that it ended with a trophy , but it was a fitting ending.

Oh for sure. I'm willing to agree to this.

Not saying that Harry didn't care. But Sonny got it on a deeper level.
Kane was a wonderful player, but he had as much personality as a beige wall, and felt like the club was beneath him (we didn't match his ambitions, so hard to argue with), but Sonny just got on with it, and has the biggest personality that everyone loved.

To me he's definitely a bigger part of the club's history than Kane is, even if he's not the better player of the two.
