True, but TBF and I'm as anti Ange as the next guy - but one year ago we'd just finished 5th. I do think the squad we have is better than some (most?) on here, I think we have some really good players, yes light in MF and up top but still some good players.

I think we've defo taken steps backwards in the last 12 months.

again, i don't think we're too far away at all.

I expect we'll bring at least 2 more in, maybe 3. interesting to see who they are. I hope they are at least at the level of Romero/VDV/Udogie/Maddison/Kulu/Bentancur etc

Think this window will most likely be judged on what creative player we bring in to take on the #10 responsibilities.

Yeh...... Funny how someone else had to pointed that out to you too innit.

What on earth are you blethering about now? Another comment that just insults rather than engage. Providing no logic or argument. It's expected from you are your cronies, no drama.

This is all you guys do. You and you're little fwends are universally disliked around here by the sounds of it, and this is why.

Ah found the quote. Yep, on that case, I misread a word because I was doing work. I have since apologized and deleted my comment because I was wrong. I'm absolutely not too proud to admit of I've fucked up or gotten something wrong. It's called being an adult. You, well, the less said the better.

Not going to bash anybody at the club here, but I find the current state of it all quite sad.

Who's the player that's going to make me want to watch Tottenham fight for a top-half finish this year? There are no magicians like Gascoigne, Modric or Dembele. There are no prodigys like Bale, prime Son or Kane. There is no team Frank can send out on the pitch and I will think "damn, Player A isn't starting today". It's just meh. And that includes Frank for me. We're a team of more or less generic players, with a generic head coach. No X-factor at all, except for maybe an injury-prone Maddison. If we can fight for something real, fine. But we can't so we won't. I haven't felt this lack of excitement prior to a new season for as long as I can remember. And I don't know if there are any players out there that we can (realistically) sign that will change how I feel. Or maybe it's just me wishing I was a kid again....

Yeah and look what happened to Abbott. Has he been sent on loan again? All lip service. None of our managers are willing to give OUR HG. Players a chance.
Honestly, fact of the matter is that our youth recruitment is diabolical. How many have slipped though the net for us? Madueke? The rest aren't close to being our level. Look at Chelsea, Woolwich and City and how many players are top players that came through their systems.

Our young players just aren't good enough for the .ost part. It's a sad reality but true.

Yeah if you break it down by the numbers it doesn't look good. But we also conceded the 4th most goals in the league.

This year is going to be much different than last anyways. It's not gonna be Ange's this is who we are.

This year, we have to place our trust in Frank to approach each match differently and use our squad to get the best result possible.

Solanke, Johnson, Kudus, and Richy have all proven they can score goals in the league. Are there more questions surrounding those players than we would like? Certainly. But they've done it before. Anything we can get from Odobert, is a bonus.
13 PL goals betw dom and Richi last season I think it was. Add in Tel.

It's getting late in the day at this stage of the transfer window, so I'm sure the wheelbarrow wheels are well greased up to bring out the annual levy imaginary warchest, as we go parading about Europe scuppering deal after deal for out of reach players
God will this ever change.

May be but we will never know.

Funny the commentator said something similar on Sunday that without son it's the first time in a long time that spurs have no "star" players

Its on frank to turn the likes of tel, odobert, gray, bergvall, kulu etc to the next level.

What an insult that'd be.

I contested something you said; the logic of said contradiction spoke entirely for itself. I make no appolgies that it's not snowballed into a scenario that dignifies your lazy projection-ism.

You're blissfully unaware that you're just cozying into a parallel 'corner' of the forum..... But; enjoy.

If you were all about being an adult like you claim then you wouldn't feel the need to have been so disingenuous with me throughout this exchange. You've acted no more grown up here... Playground tactics.

Ultimately at least Chelsea identify talented players to buy and they do show ambition. They are trying to change football. It’s not good and I don’t support it but they are doing something and committing to a project and strategy.

We do fuck all and somehow have a WORSE squad than last season despite gaining CL football, it’s an absolute joke
Well past 2 years we have spent a lot of money mainly on garbage

The king of deflection. Constantly shifting goal posts.

Why do you defend Levy so much? Just stop ducking the question.

The mental gymnastics are exhausting.

I don't know if Amorim is going to work out in the PL and if Mbeumo, Cunha and Sesko is enough to get him there but certainly they are backing their man and showing ambition, far more than can be said for Frank thus far. They have identified their problem is a severe lack of goals and sign 3 players who are all coming off very good goalscoring seasons. Kudus and Palhinha both improve the XI but not to the same degree that Cunha and Mbeumo do for United IMO.
Hasn’t Frank said we have options for the left in that magnification trio of tel Wilson and bj😀

I feel like this is a pretty universal thing with all of us and I've been the same especially with all the Son leaving and Maddison dying on the same day stuff.

This is going to be a season where we start to find those types of players in this squad, most of those stars were made at White Hart Lane, most of them slagged off for being too lightweight, coming from shit clubs, being too short, not scoring enough and then slowly they begin to become undroppable.

Kudus will be fun, like Lennon fun. Palhinha and Romero are going to bring those crunching tackles that make people stand up in the stadium. Porro probably has the best right foot of any defender in the league, Bergval has that aura of a player that's just going to be a superstar, Solanke I feel will prove a lot of people wrong this year and then you've got the French winger wild cards that nobody really knows what they'll turn out to be but I'm embracing that they could be good but again who the fuck knows.

We've got a manager that's made every attacker he's had in the premier league better, there's gonna be a lot of low blocks but hopefully that leads to hamstrings not pinging on different players every other week, also doesn't mean we won't play attacking football, think from preseason alone we can see there's a high press when the opposition are in their half.

Kulu and Maddison will come back if we can find all their missing body parts and I think we'll have a couple of signings in the next couple of weeks that just generally lift the mood a bit.

*Not a sign I'm backing how this window has gone. Just a mildly positive this squad is nowhere near as shit as it's made out to be if 70% of it can stay fit imo*
