Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Thé claim was about players brought in.

We have signed two players indisputably for the first team. We needed a 6 and a RW and we’ve done that and they both clearly improve us.

That would be about the same as them.

But then we’ve also done Tel and Takai. So we’ve done more than them. That’s just a fact. Doesn’t matter how you feel.
Fucking hell... so I buy all eleven players from some little league team and I've therefore done more than Man U... you ever heard the phrase quality not quantity?

We have a much better manager than we had last season, it’s hard to predict where we actually fall in the best of the rest category outside the top 4, but it’s still a possibility they come above us again yeah. Would have been nice if we had used the Europa win/ champs qualification as a springboard to try and separate us from the rest of that pack, but we don’t seem interested in doing that.

You think it’s a certainty we come above Utd? And are you arguing that we have had a better window so far than Utd ??
We had an even better manager in spring 2019. Lets be honest its been a shitshow since poch left.

This all builds up to Grealish on loan on August 29th, we’ve seen this song and dance before
Grealish doesn't even fix us, he plays wide he's not a 10. Who is going to get the ball to Grealish and Kudos is what worries me.

He's would also be an expensive stop gap when we need a long term replacement for Son.

We still haven't come close to replacing Kane yet and now Son as well....

Ill give you credit for finally understanding that the transfer window is only a small part of success and that the manager, tactics, strategy, morale and coaching have a bigger impact on outcomes than who you bought last window.

We are starting to get this right so I would expect huge improvement.

Will we finish higher than Utd? 50/50 for me. Which nobody who is balls deep in the transfer narrative would argue

We have literally done nothing other than sack a totally incompetent buffoon. I’m sure we will improve from 17th but the bar is in hell.

Fucking all of our competitors (almost) have good coaching and tactics. It’s the premier league. We are not going to get close to winning a league based on being disciplined - you need top footballers.

What’s unclear about it ?

Sesko through the middle cunha to the left of him and mbuemo to the right. They already play ferndades deep so need some legs next to him which is likely why they’re after baleba.

They may not all hit the ground running but there’s a clear plan for what they’re trying to do. There’s no way you wouldn’t be heaping massive Praise onto the ownership had we not signed those 3 players.

Much as I think it will remain too be seen how well the 3 integrate anf work together, yes.

In my opinion they have paid 30 to 40 million more than realistic prices, even in today's insanity but not one person can question how much has been invested and how much they have backed Amorim.

They have a look of potency and options, whereas we have Solanke and Richarlison, with a n other, or two others, plus one of the aforementioned.

It is however rectified with a couple of quality signings, and Levy will deserve pelters if we fail to bring players in before the window closes.

All we ever seem to be is ready to enquire. It’s not encouraging.

Spot on, mate, spot on. Some of us, though, don't have the luxury of patience as time in not on our side.

And for some of us grumpy old men, whining and bitching does actually make us feel better, which does make a difference, even if doesn't in the greater scheme of things.

It's just that some of us remember the glory years and long for it's return.

You keep the dream alive, and don't worry about us grumpy old cunts, we've endured the horrors of the 90s. We hope to endure this period too!

I must add, when I say 'us' and 'we' I actually mean 'me'.
You are very sweet. I really hope for supporters like you we arrive at the long promised sun lit uplands. But here's the bad news. Its not going to happen.

The idea of the slow build narrative husbandry Levy floated is no longer possible. There's been a paradigm shift, the global ownership state lead interference, streaming platform emergence and capitulation to billionaires by footballs governance means no ones coming to save us.

Sustainability PSR call it what you will, it's never happening the rules based order ENIC thought they would thrive in, by having the most balanced of books was still born. Its midwives were Roman Abramovich then Sheik Mansour . Levy is a man living in a fantasy past but its the fans still peddling the delusion I pity the most. It would be much better if he was honest then allowed people to make an informed choice about what the short to medium looks like for Tottenham.

Instead we get the cucks trying to balance the cognitive dissonance of "We want to win the EPl and ECL" with bids for c list players and a forty percentile wage bill.

It’s actually embarrassing trying to defend this window.

Other clubs are strengthening significantly, whilst we’re happy doing the bare minimum, along with losing key players …

i dont think we've even managed to do bare minimum at this time, the squad is dangerously thin to handle 4 competitions, and as we all know massively low on quality.

we've lost maddison and son, and with that 43 goals and assists from last season. we have no proper left back with Destiny being quite the sicknote which means spence playing out of position and porro playing easily over 40 games

we've had 1 fit CF all pre season, he may return next week but highly unlikely richarlison stays fit for much longer so wouldn't be surprising if we're down to playing Tel out of position at some point again.

I can't quite recall such neglect, last summer was bad but least on paper an improvement on a team that got 5th. The season we signed no one was awful, but at least that starting 11 was strong and not easy to upgrade. oh perhaps its just amplified because we won Europa and qualified for the new CL format with even more financial rewards than usual that it's surprising and bit upsetting to see us act like bums on the level of west ham or brentford

Levy and Lange must have something cooking in the background, no way can they be this incompetent and expect not to have a season of struggles which will just come back on Frank.

Who would be for you then?

Eze and Simons are going elsewhere
Can't say I've seen too much of him in Series A, but he looks like he has really good technique and is quite robust for a 20 year old.

I'm assuming you've seen him quite often, so is the highlight reel indicative of his consistency, or is that just flashes of what he has, with him being anonymous for large parts of the game?

From the little I've seen he looks a proper baller. If that's his consistent level of performance then I'd be quite excited about getting him in, don't care what the cost is.

Gee I'm sure glad we beat Man Utd to that Champions league place it really changed the direction of the two clubs.

We sure finished them off....

Their manager got backed heavily and ours was sacked and replaced by another yes man who is getting zero support.

You couldn't make it up, apart from the fact we've all seen the movie a 1000 times at this point

They will finish above us. That front three will win them games on their own. With no midweek football they will be fresh for every league game. The GK and defence is suspect, but I can see them comfortably top six which will be quite a few spots higher than us.

Ahh ok we've moved on to the personal attacks part. Ok I'll cancel my Spursplay account... after today's match

For the record I'm not happy about how this window is going at all. I understand we're being left woefully short in multiple positions.
How is asking you what you intend to do an attack? You asked me the same thing and as Id already answered exactly this question to one of the best contributors here ( hence the actual fan comment Sir Archibald Crooks Sir Archibald Crooks ) I asked it of you. Id get rid of Spursplay because its rubbish and works terribly.
