I appreciate some peeps use their hols to visit the same place every year and tbf if that's what suits them and they enjoy it then rock on....to me the World is a big place and a lifetime may not be long enough to see it all, so to date Fat Stans Disco is the only place I've broken the rule and visited twice such was the attraction. Defo in my top 3 places to visit with Fisherman's Wharf as a particular fave.
What you just quoted was all one 2 week holiday, bar San Diego which was a work trip.
First visit to SF was for (not long enough) 4 days as part of a 3 place (Vegas/SF/Ohahu) package hence the return trip for a longer stay. Loved the place and hope it hasn't changed for the worse over the last 20+ years.
Apparently San Fran is now in serious trouble with homelessness, drug abuse and and crime out of control. I went in 2015 and it was lovely.
Same though about 10 years earlier....loved the crab shacks and sourdough etc.....sorry to hear of its current plight.

As long as you stay in the tourist areas, you will be fine. Unless you are on a business trip, you have no need to visit the shady areas.
