Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Suits Levy doesn’t it? Doesn’t need to spend money but can do the we tried and blame big fat Marianakis.

We definitely seemingly didn’t try very hard if we couldn’t convince MGW to swap Forest for in the CL London based Tottenham.
Marinakis gets to show how scary and not to be messed with he is

MGW gets a nice pay rise

Levy gets to pull another we tried out of his frequently kissed bottom

And our infantile fanbase have the wool pulled over their eyes once more with fake ambishun

Works all round doesn't it

Yes but it is not important to players we are interested in. If it was Kudus would not transfer from a team with a higher ratio to the team with the worst. Frank would not come from a team with a better ratio to one that is the worst. The important table is the one showing total wages paid where we are 7th. We are not competing with the likes of Chelsea on wages and despite our Europa league win, we are not competing with them on trophies or top 4 prospects. We need to focus in getting competitive with them on trophies top teams and not worrying about a wages to turnover table. It will not happen overnight but we start the season without a recognised playmaker which I am very unhappy about.

I think you’re missing the point here.

You won’t compete with any team on trophies until you compete on wages.

Wages directly correlate to league and cup success. More so than net spend on transfer fees.

Players don’t care about wages to turnover ratio but if you offer competitive wages, you will attract better players

Just cos people do it doesn't mean they should.

Sorry, but being able to regulate yourself about the team you support not buying enough players should be a minimal thing to achieve as a human.

We are all in a constant state of disregulation due to the 24 hour news cycle, social media, whatever.... its all designed to keep us angry and ready to fight ao we click more, act more etc. We all have a choice how we choose to interact with it.

Entertainment, for me is that. Entertainment. It's nothing like war for me.

War understandably makes people feel extreme discomfort and uncertainty, triggering our nervous system into a state of fight or flight and feeling very high levels of emotion that can be hard to keep under control

And sure, winning or losing football matches can trigger the same response.... but really, truly in the grand scheme of things.... it shouldn't.
it is perfectly possible to loathe Levy as the disingenuous sack of shit he is imho , meanwhile enjoy my life , not let him raise my blood pressure, not make me want to go on the streets and riot .
He is like my old Maths teacher, I loathed her , enjoyed playing football for the school though .

I can dislike someone and it not take over my life . I post on here a lot cos I love the banter , most of my posts I like to think are quite humorous. I reckon most people on here who detest him happily compartmentalise football and the real world .

If one thinks he is a disingenuous buffoon who is useless at the football side of things , it’s possible to loathe him and sleep like a baby . I would imagine that covers most Levy outers

Ffs I had to recharge myself after that....he'd be the perfect reader for the shipping forecast.
Put him on before bed. Works a treat.

Incredible really, undone all that goodwill and positivity around the club from Europa win in a mere 3 months .
Gonna go back to the toxic shit on Saturday unless Burnley steamrolled

The fans at the ground are generally more positive than they are on social media. I think it will be a good atmosphere on Saturday and I'm looking forward to it personally 🤪

If that kid has any sense, he goes to Leverkusen then within 2 years he's at Bayern, Liverpool, City, Real.

Or he goes to PSG now. Can start ahead of Ruiz when they don't need as much physicality, or alternate with Doue/Kvara/Barcola the rest of the time.

I doubt he's even heard of Tottenham. Or he'd probably laugh at the thought, like Mbappe did a while back.

Or he could come to Spurs and move to Real Madrid like Modric and Bale did. Likely where Romero ends up too.

Has anyone noticed that this year is like the previous one. Other teams make offers for players but we closely monitor or are watching until they are gone and then we scramble about for what’s left. Cheap loans. Frank obviously believed Levy when he said we would be involved in winning the premiership and the Champions League. Bet he wishes he’d stayed where he was. Nothing changes, a joke of a club.
Levy will try to swoop towards the end of the window when the other big teams will/should be trying to get rid of unwanted players. As he always does.

I'm personally not against the idea of that on principle. But it can't be the core mechanic of your transfer strategy... Which is sadly how Daniel works.

To use an animal analogy: If the rest of the big six are lions we are a jackal.
