Good old Herc.

Suddenly he can announce we’ve been talking for ages and give the finer details of the payments terms we’ve been negotiating.

It’s so bloody weird that he didn’t share this incredible insight to the community before Romano and Ornstein announced the talks this morning.

Even weirder when you have to consider the SC ITKs are always a few days ahead of the media.

I tell you what, that site would really take off if these ITKs were allowed to share their info before media leaks.

Sadly, they always share it back stage with admin and so the minions don’t get to hear it.

Now then, where’s my wallet. Donation time.

he wasnt able to talk about it before because his guy wouldnt want him to post it online until it was out in public. But rest assured he shared it with admin previously

I saw an article from Romano which suggests there is some truth to the Eze rumours, it said that the player was keen but the stumbling block was that the release clause has expired so Palace want more money.....

Absolutley laughable if true. I mean how long did we have to trigger the clause?
i Think the issue with the clause was from what I've read is that a large amount of it was to be paid up front which I believe is largely unprecedented, think the scum thought the same, hence letting the clause run down.

Now obv you could end up paying more for the player in the long run over installments, but that's much more amenable to the buying club, even though you technically pay more overall.

Essentially, I think Levy would rather negotiate the terms of the deal than agree to the release clause and over 50M up front or whatever it was.

I’d like to actually know how many think we will sign Savinho and Eze. There is not a chance we sign both of them. Anyone who thinks we will is fucked in the head. We might sign Savinho if Levy can get city to drop £20 million off what they want. We are not paying what Palace want for Eze and there’s no way we pay it up front so I’d suggest we let that one go.

If for some fucked up reason Levy decides to spunk £150 million on these two I’ll never criticise the man again. It just won’t happen.

Shitty have plenty of players who are either wingers or often get plonked into wide positions by Pep - Doku, Bobb (who is HG), Marmoush, even Foden and Cherki.

They're after Rodrygo and apparently trying to get Xavi Simons ,so more players for those areas.

I think they've decided Savinho is the expendable one to raise funds for the players they're chasing.

Plus the internet sez Savinho is on c£40k pw. If we're paying a c£50 m transfer fee, even Levy must be offering to double or triple those wages, whereas Shitty may be declining to offer him a new contract since he only signed last season.

I think the issue with palace is paying 68 up front parish wants all of it whereas we probably want to do 8 year installments

Palace no longer have the option to hold out for all up front cash - particularly with uefa Conference football next season which might give them only 5m - 10m prize money versus say 40m in EL.

So he has to comprise to sell Eze - compromise might be for example 30m up front and 40m payable as 10m a year for 4 years, or something similar.

And Parrish also has the Guehi issue with contract running out in 12 months, so he's leaving and nobody will pay 40m up front either - it will be spread over a few years.

Wharton on a long contract and probably expensive 80m - 100m so he stays

Will be interesting to see how it unfolds over next week or so - and Palace need time to try to bring in other (cheaper) replacements with potential ....... so time is not on Palace side

so, Eze isn’t exactly a true ball-distributing 10 in my opinion. You can play him central but he excels at drifting in from the left and ball carrying moreso than metronome passing.

A central midfielder he is not, at least not fully. Asking him to be part of a midfield 3 and dictate play from the centre is not a fully optimal usage of Eze and will come with some trade-offs, namely our speed of passing. And defensively, when Savinho (who also has some glaring defensive issues) will be in the team, it could leave our defence quite limp imo as he’s not a good central presser or tracker of runs.

I think Eze is more of a LW who loves having the ball (Grealish style) than a proper 10. He’s a silky player who can do a lot, but Maddison is a clearly better passer and assists more in deep build-up.

Combine eze and madison and we've got something special

Man if we sign both Savinho and Eze this is the stuff of dreams.

Imagine lining up with

Solanke
Savinho Eze Kudus

Two signings instantly elevates us into a proper CL quality attack.

And if Tel develops into a top 9 as hoped, he will eventually replace Solanke, who is good but not top tier. At least, he hasnt been yet.

Big season for Solanke.

I genuinely think we want to sign both, and I think the Eze deal will move quickly. We will probably want to be aggressive to make sure we don't give Woolwich time to get involved.

Hard not to get excited.

We would have the best 1v1 attack in the league.

Yeah but thankfully the admin are always happy to confirm they have done so, so we know it's all legit...

Nice to see this post resonate with so much optimism!

I read that the club is playing the Eze deal close to the vest in case he chooses Woolwich, but I wish we'd publicly go all out for him. If he chooses Woolwich we just say they were in on him for a while and we couldn't get him, but if we do get him we can claim a gazump and add an Eze trophy to the case!

I'd honestly love to be a fly on the wall!

Parish "68m is his release clause. We are not entertaining less:
Levy "55m final offer"
Parish "No! GET OUT"
Levy "Kudus cost 55m and he's better than Eze"
Parish "No he's not. What are you doing here?"
Levy "Stick on the kettle there Lange. We might be here a while"

More likely, and more realistic discussion is terms, not the amounts.
Palace may have stipulated that it's £68m up front in one payment.
Levy won't/can't do that.
He could go as far as to offer more if Palace agree to 4-5 years rather than one off.
