Match Super Cup Final - Spurs vs PSG, Weds 13th Aug, 8pm

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Awful lot for Tel to do to convince anyone that he can make it here.

He played 18 minutes and was absolutely nowhere near anything, his touch was abysmal and offered absolutely no relief for the defenders.

Proud of the team though - but this proves we're still a couple of decent players away from being truly competitive for the full 90 minutes.

And the performance was light years away from what I was expecting.

Of course PSG have a greater strength in depth. They're a state-funded super club. Look at how they won the CL.

Complaining that we have a weaker squad, misses the point. Of course our squad will be weaker compared to them.

Big credit to Frank and his players.

At the same time I like the sense of ambition that wants to be like PSG!

Barring Solanke being one of the league’s top strikers or a couple attacking signings that hit the ground running immediately, I don’t see us having enough firepower to challenge for top 4.

But with the structure I’ve seen so far this preseason, I think we’ll comfortably be in the European places, which of course would be massive step in the right direction.

It was a brilliant showing until we put the subs on. Hopefully next time we’re in that situation we are putting Eze on and not Tel.

The game boiled down to a battle of the subs and PSGs had a big impact while ours didn’t do anything right.
We were hoping PSG were more tired towards the end, but it was the opposite. We were the contrary with our subs. A huge lesson for Frank to learn taking it forward.

He was diabolical when he came on. Everyone with me knew he was going to miss. Didn't even hit the target and give yourself a chance. We got far worse with the subs. Paulhina and Richy off we got worse. Nobody could hold it up and get us up the pitch. Terrible subs. Don't mind tired players coming off but Tel !!???
Agree with everything, but more importantly....Richys back tattoo is diabolical! :frankwtf:

It was a decent training exercise or whatever, our guys put a good shift in, will have learned a few things, but that was not a real opponent. Win or lose that's just the fact.

Now, had we stolen a trophy thanks to the fraud of this game being played despite the CWC and PSG not having any training I would not have apologized one bit, nor should any of us have, but the circumstances are what they are.

Burnley presents an immeasurably tougher challenge than the get-to-know-you session PSG could muster in 6 days and zero games of preseason. Joke that the game went forward but that's modern football.

It's a different prospect completely against Burnley

Nice to know Frank will set up differently depending on opposition, hopefully it goes well

On Frank himself - I think he will learn a lot on players & himself. He cant play in CL for 90minutes this way. He will need to be a bit more braver.
But then to be fair to him, he had almost no option in midfield. May be he could have played Bergvall more earlier say by 60mins

Great first hour. Last third of the game not so good. Frustrating to lose it the way we did, especially after being ahead on fucking penalties. Just shows we need more bodies, more experienced bodies in the squad. Gassed at the end.

Bringing on bergvall, tel and gray while PSG can bring on the likes of Ruiz and Ramos. No disrespect to those guys but they're not experienced enough to see these types of games out.
