It is but if you rate Eze and Salvinho at Kudus level or higher which I do think about how much Kudus transformed us then when he went off last night affected us badly. Now think of 3 Kudus level players in our attack. That is transformational. £70m for a brilliant talent is better than £50m for a half decent one.

If our data and scouting has us confident enough to pay 70m then I’m fully behind it if they want to overpay.
Plus his wages aren’t huge so total transfer cost won’t be that crazy

I do wonder if we should be doing more of these sales of young talent with buyback clauses. In a lot of ways they make a lot more sense than ‘dry’ loans.
When a club buys a player they become way more integrated and important than a loan.
We obviously wouldn’t have quite the same talent pool, but there’s been a few youngsters we could have sold for £10m ish and inserted a buy back clause in case they soar.
it took all of a season to change his mind on this so I wouldn’t emphasise it too much
i agree they won't emasculate players like kudus does but each has to be respected with the ball at their feet driving into space; eze because of how he can score and savinha because of his two footedness. i want these three on our front line so bad just for the entertainment of it. we fucking deserve this shit too after what we've endured the last few years

One of them taking off down one wing with the ball taking players out the game only to then work it into the centre and out to the other side where the other is 1v1 inside the penalty box for the finish with eze collecting the cut backs.
Even Solankes level and output would rise feeding off that kind of service.
Our Cm's actually do alot of good work nicking the ball during the press for us to then fail to make anything of it. This changes that drastically, a devastating transition.
