Roma reach agreement to sign Bailey​

Latest from Sky in Italy's Gianluca Di Marzio:

Roma have reached an agreement with Aston Villa for Leon Bailey and the player will arrive in the Italian capital tonight, according to Sky in Italy.

The Jamaica international is set to sign on an initial season-long loan pending a medical.

There is a loan fee of £1.7m (€2m). The agreement also contains the option to buy the winger for around £19m (€22m).

Bailey becomes the second Villa player to be sold in the past few days after Jacob Ramsey completed a move to Newcastle.

Ballague is useless. But even the useless ones get it right on occasion when they guess. I'll wait til someone from the Athletic shuts it down.

But I've been pessimistic from the start. A leopard doesn't change it's spots, and that's outrageous to get both. Still massive holes and next summer a proper #9 will likely be needed too, and we're not getting both.

Some people though won't want a Jewish player, which is probably holding his actual re-sale value down so low at the moment it's hardly worth selling.
Probably the logic IMO. Loans - easy. Selling, not so.

I think the fact they’re even this serious about BEK at all is a good sign this should, fingers crossed, get done. They’ve spent fuck all this summer to the point Glasner’s called them out on it.
